At least until before he went to the SOE party after the Grand Reception :)

Story is, as Vannoth/Saiphos was giving away prizes for the night at dinner, people from "numerous" servers brought him drink after drink after drink which he slammed. The Veeshan donation to Saiphos was a screwdriver.

The drinks were lining up on the top of the podium where there wasn't much room left. Sooner or later, two bottles of Tequilla were donated to the drinking podium, but Saiphos didn't slam those saying that "no matter how much we cheered him on" he wouldn't slam those because he's got "morals" or some such.

Saiphos did hold it well, and was hilarious through the entire night. He absolutely was a great host of the party and certainly created a great close to the Fan Faire. He also gave Veeshan some props and compared us to another server during GM events. The other server (can't remember the name) would take 5 hours to kill the GM NPC during the quest process, when those on Veeshan would kill it first in 5 seconds just to see what phat lewts it had :)

Among the screaming and shouting our tables did, including "SCAMMER!", "WE LOVE YOU SAIPHOS!", and "VEESHAAAN!! The 5 or so Veeshan tables lead numerous cheers of "POVAR SUCKS" which echoed throughout the reception, and was joined by many other servers as well. Povar had the most people, and got crap for it most of the night.
I remember Saiphos saying during dinner, and after many drinks, "..but Povar still sucks, so anyway..."

They auctioned off the server and class banners like they apparently did in Vegas, and they said one of the banners went for over $800 or so. Last time I saw the Veeshan banner silent auction it was around $100. No clue where it stopped at because they did a verbal auction right as the silent one closed. I went for a beer at that point hehe.

Saiphos also said that the Povar banner was sold to someone off of Povar, just so they could burn the banner. That's how much love Povar got the entire weekend.

Coatie also passed out some cookies to most of the Veeshan tables, sorry to those who didn't get one. The Senior Guide took note and gave her props for that.

FYI, the next Fan Faire that was announced was, once again, Las Vegas

So that's mostly Saturday in a nutshell. Can't wait to see Coatie's pictures! I have some from my camera phone, which isn't the best quality, but I'll send those to ya Coatie so maybe you can host them as well.

All in all, a great weekend, can't wait for Vegas :)

Such an eloquent question.

The answer is because NYC is EXPENSIVE. I mean real expensive. The dang Holiday Inn there is $300 a night.

You should have heard the complaining I had to listen to because the food was so expensive here in Chicago. (Still here recovering) I can't imagine what it would sound like in NYC. Bleh.

Although I've considered Atlantic City or Philly once or twice. Besides you had Boston last year. Its the Southeast's turn.

You know you're getting boned when the cab driver overhears your conversation and openly laughs at paying 5$ for a Coke.

Seriously, it was hella cool. My GF and I had a great time. I do have plenty of suggestions that myself and the other players discussed, where can I send them? Can I PM you here Vannoth? Nothing crazy, just some quality input.

5 bucks for a 12 oz. can of Coke. I still feel dirty for that.

Vegas is in the SE now? Boston and NYC might as well be two different countries.

Feh, you can easily find rooms that are just fine for less than $100 a night. Easily. Good places too. Shit, I can get a room at the W in Times Square for $300 a night, what holiday inn are you talking about?

In addition, there are so many places where you can get an entire meal for $5, good places. Sure, you go to a freakin McDonalds, the cost per burger is going to be higher, but why go there when there are family run restuarants everywhere. Tourism in NY is still in the shitter so deals are there.

Having said that, AC or Philly would be good, AC probably the better of the two.

I still think New Orleans is a great mid-continent destination and just as decadent (more so really) than Las Vegas.

East Coasters suck it up and come to Vegas : ) Airfare is usally pretty cheap and the city is perfect for this sort of thing. The only requirement for the next FF is to make sure there's a good bar close by (as Quarks was last time) :P

Three days removed from Vannoth slamming drink after drink, guess who is speaking at the same podium?
