Sweet! It's been forever since I saw the original Alien. I remember thinking it was cheap and lame, but I'm willing to bet I'd totally get into it this time around, and a theatrical release to boot... Count me in.

The original Alien was a time of great self exploration for me when I was younger (ie. Sigourney Weaver in the little ass crack showing panties).

Seriously though, this was one of those gateway movies that opened up a whole new genre. I'm excited to see what they will do with it.

Kick-ass. I've always wanted to see any Alien film in the theatres but never got to (Well okay, I saw Resurrection but I'm trying to forget that). I will totally be in line for this. That first one scared the shit out of me. I think I saw it when I was 10 or something.

My roommate and I had an Alen movie marathon a few weekends ago. I had never seen any of them and I think the image of those undies has scarred me for life. I can appreciate a good looking body/style on either sex but those just did not work for her. They looked like undies for elementary age kids :(

Am I the *ONLY* person who enjoyed Resurrection? Granted, the alien kid was WAYYY too creepy, a lot more than was needed... but I liked the movie damnit!

Hell, I LOVED Resurrection!(and agree with Dregor about the alien kid)... it was dark, scary and full of colorful characters, much like Aliens...plus the swimming alien warriors were bitchin! :D

Alien 3, I didn't care for though....

Well I whipped out the box-set after I read a few different threads on the re-release of Alien and re-watched the entire alien series. Alien was a great horror film. Aliens was an action film but still had the ability to scare the living shit out of us. The only thing that saved Alien3 was David Fincher. He is a kick-ass director and I loved the mood he set for the movie. And the ending was fitting for the series. Too bad the rest of the script sucked ass.

Ressurection was an enjoyable film but it didn't seem like an alien movie. Some of the visuals were incredible like the scene where one of the aliens is carrying Ripley in it's arms. I like the idea that she's torn between two species because in essence she is both. Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a good director and I loved his first movie, City of Lost Children. I guess I just couldn't past the whole Ripley get's brought back by cloning technology using blood samples that somehow had the alien dna in it as well. I know it's science fiction and all, but that just seemed way out there.

Hey, I think I was around 11-12 years old when this came out. I remember sneaking to the living room after everyone was asleep and watching it on HBO. Besides being scared as hell all alone in the dark, it was the first time I'd ever seen panties outside of the Sears catalogue. That makes an impression!

I liked the way it gave the Aliens an IQ... watching the one give that poor marine frostbite was wicked, along with the three imprisioned aliens ripping the third one of their number in half to melt the floor.

Ahh I guess I can sort of understand. Who can explain young love?!? In fact, here is a random story...

When I was young my mom watched 3-5 of the neighbor kids until a parent came home from work. The other girl and I played My Little Ponies or something but the boys were always getting in trouble. One day they decided they wanted to do an art project. They cut out pictures of pots and pans and things like that because "they thought their moms would like them." When my mother came to check on them she noticed that they were selecting pictures that had women's bras and underwear on the back. She thought it was funny, in fact she and my aunt chased them around the house, and attached the undies to their forehead's with a glue stick. Thanks a lot Mom, she not only fucked my childhood up, she made it a regional thing LoL End of story *hugs* - a_guide

Part of the re-release will be digitally changing those ass crack showing panties into thong panties.

I liked them all actually. The one I liked least was the third movie and only because they killed off Hicks. The 4th one was cool because they expanded more on the "world" they lived in and you got to see more than just the inside of a ship. Their reaction to Earth was cool too, "Ugh, Earth".

What I want to see is the Aliens vs. Predator movie.

Thought they were all good but the first was the scariest IMHO. My favorite is Aliens though as I just love the marines and Bill Paxton's whining (which happens again in True Lies).

I had not even seen the Directors cut of Aliens until last year, have seen the regular version about 50 times. I liked the additional scenes. It made sense for me because in the alien vs pred PC game, there were mobile turret placements for the marines, I was always like wtf they never had those in the movie, then I saw the deleted scenes and all was made clear. I also liked how they showed life on the colony before it was overrun, and the chaos that ensued when the aliens started attacking, great great stuff.
