John Ritter - 55

Post by Seebs »

Not sure why this death has shaken me so. Johnny Cash also died, but I had him on two lists (stiffs.com) so at least something good came from his passing.

I'm in my late 30's and grew up with Ritter on Three's Company and those awfulk Teri Garr movies in the 80's. I had the pleasure of speaking at length with him when I was a bellman in the late 80's. He was a truly nice guy, even when he was out of work in the late 80's.

Going out on a limb here, but I think Ritter is one of the best physical comedians of this generation (Chevy Chase isn't close, Chris Farley may have been the best).

Sorry for the ramble, but Ritter will be missed here.

WTF! This is a shock. I just saw him do an interview last week about his show and he looked fine to me.

Yeah...this is definitely a painfull one for those of us that grew up in the 70's. Johnny Cash you almost expected...like Bob Hope. I think one of his all time best movies was with Jim Belushi in Real Men. It at least balanced out the Problem Child duet.

It sucked seeing the news of his death the first thing in the morning. It's a shame to see him go.

John Ritter was a good one. His death was premature and rather sudden and the world will not be quite as funny. Reminds me of Jim Henson passing as well. You get the feeling both had a lot of good work left in them.

I don't know what it is about this year, but it seems that the entertainment industry is loosing a bunch this year. It was really bad over the summer as well. Bob Hope, Johnny Cash you expected, but damm..

Johnny Cash also died.

On a brighter note, David Letterman knocked up his girlfriend.

Jack Tripper was one of the greatest pimps ever, sharing an apartment with two women. I loved watching those Three's Company reruns as a kid, especially those parts when any male and female are in the kitchen and other people are listening to them thinking they are performing some sort of sex act

Vaya con Dios John, you were da man!

Edit: Stragi's sig is too damn NWS, he must love swinging nutsacks. Please remove...
