Interesting, "Swarf"
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=swarf

Does it have a meaning dissimilar to the dictionary definition?

It reeks fruity euro colors. I dont care how easy it is to counterfeit a 20, i'm not holding some blue and yellow $20 bill.
I got laid less when i used a Pentium. I talk about my AMD and how it has 8 data channels instead of 6 and why AMD's QuantiSpeed Architecture easily out-performs Intel's Hyperthreading technology. Suffice to say that it gets the chicks all hot and flustered...

O Noz shitbreath called my queen ugly i am destroyed ><

And that's not a fookin Euro, Swede! That's Pounds Sterling I'll have you know.

Anyway the point is having all your bills the same size and colour is just dumb. It was hard enough for me to distinguish different denominations in the dark when drunk (all those blokes look the same, cant read the numbers) and I'm usually fairly sharp. The blind, partially sighted or elderly are gonna be struggling.

Swarf- the definition is correct. Your coins are like metal filings :)

Different sized paper bills are annoying as hell to carry.

WTF is up with British coins of less value being larger in size?

Annoying as hell how? I mean, really I just don't see the problem other than lack of familiarity.

Coins are pretty easy when you understand when they came into circulation. The metal is more important than the size anyway:
1) Coppers. 1p and 2p, been around for decades, hance are pretty big for their denomination. However they are copper, and copper = low value.
2) Nickel alloy: 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p. The 50p was introduced with decimalization in the 60s. It's 7-sided and pretty big. 20p was introduxed in the 80s, is 7-sided and small. The 5p and 10p were reissued in the 90s cos the old ones were too big (they were clones of the old shilling coins, which were high value when introduced thus large). But again the colour is the key. Silvery look = decent change.
3) Nuggets: The £1 and £2 coins. Both are gold in colour, 2-3 times thicker than any other coin and have text engraved around the edges. The £2 is about 50% larger than the £1. They're fairly weighty as coins go and very distinctive. Gold colour = big value.

Gold, Silver, Copper. Pretty easy :)

Anyway isn't your dime smaller than your 5c piece? ISTR this being the case but wouldn't bet on it.

That Canadian money actually looks very nice. And yeah sorry Tanc, forgot.. England hasn't swapped over has it?

Anyway, Norwegian coins vary in size in thickness so blind/people with bad eyes can feel what kind of coin it is. Some also have holes in the middle.

I never even considered blind people. Maybe different size bills isn't such a bad idea.

Switzerland also has different sized/colored bills, as well as raised shapes so the blind can easily differentiate the bills.

Yeah blind people get screwed they have to fold all their bills diff by denomination or use multiple pockets etc. Then they have to have other people sort them.

But a blind buddy assures me a lot of blind people can tell the diff between bills by the feel and shape of the face, I cannot frankly see that much of a diff, but you know the old 1 sense down others go up thing.

For the same reason we had Barbara Bush on the $1 bill. Because it didn't cost us anything in trademarks.

wth is this? Paper currency isn't an art contest. US currency is easy to recognize and with the few changes it's made counterfeiting a little more difficult.

I suppose we could make funny money as well:

I buy and sell the old collectible stuff and modern day foreign exchange and bullion.
Laundering money is not something I know a lot about except when I accidently leave some money in my pockets before I do the laundry.
