Akaran of Mistmoore, formerly Akaran of Veeshan
I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

I am not sure what soe is planning with these new spells, they are nice and all, but fairly useless to the high end crowd.

Might give you a hint as to who the expansion is aimed at..

Bards, again, apparently.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

So... is SoE just TRYING to flood the high end game with more imbecile newbies? It's not like it's actually difficult to get to 65 these days. WTF more do the 30-55 crowd want? /betabuff?

While every class has its share of whiners, I think this is just another case of SOE taking a bread-and-butter high level spell/song and retooling it for mid/lower levels.

While I understand what they're thinking to some degree, I think it detracts from overall game experience if you use the exact same family of spells your entire career. I liked it when I had to retool my spells because of new ones, but nowadays every high level spell I use has a lower level equivelent.

Case in point, remember when 55 shamans got Bear Form? That was almost a status symbol at the time more than it was a huge buff. It was something to look forward to. Then a few patches later, there was a mid-level version. Half as powerful, but any desire to reach 55 so that you can become a bear kind of went away.

Overall I think they're just watering down the game so that your expeience at all levels is kind of the same. I'm glad I played as the game evolved. I'd be bored silly if I started a fresh character today. It's a good thing they made the ride to 65 so fast - because they took away the freshness of the different levels of play.

From 40-65 most bards solo anyway. With a bit of free time, you can easily go from 50-65 in less than 2 weeks. With a 40 hour a week job, I took Effie from 1-64 in less than 3 weeks.

All the rizlonas with the exception of Call of the Muse will basically go unused.

Um, lower level Rizlona's isn't going to make more level 65 idiot newbies.
KEI at level 1 created more stupid players than any bard song could ever do.

There are a fair number of bards who dn't solo wether for preference or lack of skill. This song brings a powerful mechanic into lower levels. I am happy because my low end bard twink will be able to pump DPS groups up, but just because bards can solo to 62 in two weeks and dont need this song isnt the point. Its one more thing they can do and one more option they have. A descent bard would already be preferable to an enchanter in LDON without this song, but there it is.
