Building a Computer
okay, i am finally going to build myself a computer (with the help of a friend) and the only discount hardware sales i know of is newegg.com, is there anywhere else i should be checking before i put in an order to newegg and end up paying more than i have to? there may be some more comp building questions to come

Newegg.com gets my vote for perfect service so far for a few thousand $$ worth of purchases.
I tried pricewatch ONE time to order a video card and got screwed by some store based out of a garage I'm sure. I didn't lose my money but they lied about the stock and it took a long time to get to me. Places like Newegg have inventory systems that are very reliable and shipping departments that kick ass.

Yeah, check/ask around about reputation. I once got burned on a Monster2 3D from a company called like BuzyBoys (or equally retarded name - sorry, it's been like 6 years). I got the card at the price they offered, but it wasn't recognized by Plug and Play ("Unrecognized PCI device").
I got ahold of the Manufacturer and troubleshooting, we determined it was a defective card. I got a reference number from them and called the reseller - after about 20 tries over 10 days (no email responses) I got ahold of a tech who tried to disown the problem, but then grudgingly gave me an RMA. I shipped the card back, following thier instructions and that was the last I heard of it.
Their phone number was disconnected about a week and a half later when I called back to find out where the fuck my replacement was and there was no response to emails. At that point I was so pissed off I just went out, bought a suitable replacement locally and said I'd never buy from a dealer I didn't know was reputable again.
