An interesting winter for games comming up.

Post by Akaran_D »

What ones are you looking forward to?

EverQuest 2
Lords of EverQuest
Lost Dungeons of Norrath
--whatever that PS2 EQ game is going to be
F-Zero (GODS I can't wait to see this on the GC. If it can even come close to the greatness that was X-G3, I am going to piss myself)
SoulCalibur2 (FUCK YEAH)
Final Fantasy X-2 (The first actual "sequel" to a FF game. Given how much I loved X, I have great hopes for this one)

Anyone know of anything else chubby-worthy?

But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

Lost Dungeons of Norrath
1942 Expansion: Secret Weapons of WWII
Age of Mythology Expansion: The Titans
C&C: Generals Expansion: Zero Hour
Dungeon Siege Expansion

I'm sure there are others that I'm negleting. This winter, it's all about the expansions, heh.

Mario Kart: Double Dash! This game will completely blow any previous multiplayer console games once it comes out, and I hear they are going to add functionality for networking 2 systems at once for 8 player action. Nintendo is gonna sell so many Gamecubes this holiday season just for that one game.

Other than that one, CS: Condition Zero, Doom III, FF Tactics for Gameboy Advance, and that new PS2 Castlevania Game look really fuckin tight as well.

I wouldn't count on that :P

I am personally looking forward to Xbox online sports games now the the service has gotten pretty established. GT4 will keep me busy as well I'm betting.

I would say multiple of the games above, mainly things like Half Life 2 and Doom III; less so Everquest II or most any other MMoRPG I figure I waste/d enough time with EQ1 that I don't want to do the same thing again.

The game I have not seen mentioned I am really waiting for is Dues Ex: The Invisible War. I played the original Dues Ex and thought it was just awesome, granted it had some problems but what game doesnt. I just really liked the really detailed story and the ability to actually effect what happened, albeit limited, and choose different paths for advancement in the game not to mention I think its one of the longest playing computer games (Non persistant world ie EQ) that I have ever seen.

I'd add Halo 2 on as well but its not coming out this year anymore which is a good thing in some ways; only the PC version of Halo which might still be pretty cool is coming out this year.

MADDEN 2004 is the only game I am actually looking forward to. Doom III would be another but that has been pushed back until the first quarter of 2004.

The new word on Doom III is that it probably won't ship until early next year.

Deus EX 2 will probably kick much ass.

The two I am waiting for are due out this month.

Temple of Elemental Evil , using 3.5 D&D rules ( turn based )

UFO: Aftermath , a remake of the original XCom UFO Defense. Its is done by a different company but retains most of what made XCom fun.
