I don't like either personally, they leave a film in my mouth that I have to go scrape off later.

I accidentally picked up a vanilla coke a few weeks ago. I seriously thought I had tried to drink the leftover scum from a simmering potpourri pot laced with vanilla.

edit: oops, messed up my vote. My pepsi vanilla should be under the Mountain Dew option.

And if you're going the Stoli route, disregard the coke/pepsi entirely and go with Kaluha!

My favorite softdrink is Pepsi. Howevah, when Vanilla Coke was introduce, I betrayed Pepsi for vanilla coke. Pepsi Vanilla made my day :). I like the flavor a bit better :)

I don't like mixing vodka w/ cola. Just doesn't taste right to me. However, the day Bacardi or teh Captain makes a vanilla rum, I'm there!

I'm pretty sure I've seen Bacardi Vanilla. Lately I've been seeing all different kinds of Bacardi, I'm positive there was a Cocoa or some sort of chocolatey Bacardi, vanilla wouldn't surprise me.

I actually like Vanilla Coke in small amounts.. if it is ice cold. But only small amounts, after that it makes me want to puke. And if it is not ice cold I can't get any of it down.

vanilla pepsi is too sweet.

vanilla coke is nothing to write home about but at least it doesn't taste like I'm drinking pure sugar.

when I want a cola these days I usually get something from a local maker like jone's that uses sugar instead of corn syrup, or I buy a coke/pepsi from a fountain so it's watered down. I don't like how the corn syrup coke and pepsi use to sweeten their beverages leaves an oogy film in my mouth that I have to rinse out with water.. kind of defeats the purpose of drinking something. I wish coke would come out with a more upscale version of their cola that uses sugar instead of corn syrup.

Ordinarily, I find Pepsi products to be far superior in qualityto any Coca-Cola product. However, in this case I think the sweetness of Pepsi (which I prefer to the tartness of Coke) does not mix well with the sweet Vanilla syrup.

Therefore,

Vanilla Coke > Pepsi Vanilla

I know that Canada uses Corn Syrup, but I'm not sure about the states. I met a guy a couple of years ago from Texas who was a big coca-cola freak. He's been all over the world and was talking about how coke tasted different in Canada because of the corn syrup.

Anyone in the USA wanna post the ingredients on the can? If there's no corn syrup you can make runs to bellingham for your coke, kyoukan :)

Us Americans get teh filthy "sugar and/or high fructose corn syrup". We need to organize a strategic strike on Australia to get at their stores of carbonated beverages with sugar.

No American uses corn syrup as well. Coke up here tastes different because the quality of water they use at the beveraging facilities is higher up here.

Coke stopped using sugar in their colas in the 70s or 80s because corn syrup is something like 90% cheaper than using cane sugar.

I think Vanilla Pepsi is much better than Vanilla Coke. Dunno why but the Coke about made me gag. Pepsi, I have purchased a couple 12 packs I like it so much. Being Italian and having a natural affinity for Cream Sodas, this is a nice alternative when no real ones can be found.

Man, cream soda is always way more expensive, only found in 6 maybe 12 packs if your lucky and rarely if ever diet. I think that's why I drank Vanilla coke, because I can the diet version locally and it reminds me of cream soda.

I haven't had vanilla pepsi yet...because I don't drink soda anymore.

What's up in this thread? 8)

Haven't tried the Vanilla Pepsi yet, Vanilla Coke isn't that great though.

Yes Stoli is good, Bacardi Vanilla is good, and yes I can still remember what it tastes like. (i think)

On a hijack aside. Mt Dew's new addition to the franchise, Livewire, is the motherfucking win.

I've tried both:

Vanilla Pepsi: Pretty much like drinking sugar syrup, with a hint of a vanilla taste.

Vanilla Coke: Nowhere near as syrupy as Pepsi and the vanilla taste is more noticeable.

If I had to choose between the two I would pick Vanilla Coke.

I stick to the Sugarfree Red Bull. The only problem I have is that I always feel the need for Jagermeister when I am drinking it (before work), but the 10 calories vs most soft drinks makes the strange craving worth it in my little world. In regards to Vanilla flavored drinks, the only one I tried that I came close to liking was one that my old roommate picked up called Bawls (sp) from CompUSA. It was decent, but there was no way I could finish a bottle which I think was 12oz.

Vanilla flavoring = ickyickyickyicky
