Old news. Everyone knows that Bush and/or his cronies are making a killing off his policies.

The Bush apologists will still yammer on about how Haliburton is one of only two companies capable of handling the size of the contract.

Wendy Hall, a Halliburton spokeswoman, declined to discuss the details of the company’s operations in Iraq, or confirm or deny estimates of the amounts the company has earned from its contracting work on behalf of the military. In an e-mail message, however, she said that suggestions of war profiteering were “an affront to all hard-working, honorable Halliburton employees.”
rofl. not all their employees, only the hard-working, honorable ones. gee, I wonder how many of them there is. Also, not the company itself, just the employees. This person is a horrible spokeswoman.
I tell it like a true mackadelic.

Haliburton and Bechtel are lock and key with government and have been for years.

their entire business model is based on the way that the government contracts work.

this is just another huge hookup in a long line of hookups for these companies. and that is what business is all about, using your connections to make money.

if anybody thinks that Cheney's position didnt help Haliburton secure this job through a "no bid" process, i seriously want you on the other side of the table the next time i'm buying a house, car, whatever.

This could be one of Dave Chappelle's "Great Moments in Hook-up History."

But it's not like every fucking politician in DC wouldn't do exactly the same thing for their backers.

absolutely Masteen, all of them do it everyday to lesser degrees.

they all abuse their position to their betterment. it will probably be 100 years or more before a non-millionaire gets to be president again (if ever).

Did we have any non-millionaire presidents in the 20th century?
