Let me rephrase. I tend to believe that it was consentual. Kobe's statement was ambiguous, open to wide interpretation. The implication was that he had not even slept with the woman. I have no idea if it was the case with Kobe, but it seems that stars like Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan can screw anyone they want and it's understood by their wives that that's the way it is. I'm not making a judgement here but screwing other women isn't that big a deal depending on what kind of relationship the marriage is. There's also a decent chance some of these wives were goldmining themselves. After re-checking, I believe that you are right that it was before his surgery. I heard that he went in on crutches, and assumed it was after the surgery.
