I voted IHOP, but nothing holds a candle to my father's homemade pancakes!

IHOP has better website design, too. This is important in our fast paced consumerism lifestyle!

Waffle House for pancakes and waffles.

IHOP for other stuff. (Cinnamon Swirl French toast is damn good.)

WaffleHouse uses plastic vaguely cheese-like substance on their hashbrowns, no way I can support that.

IHOP for sure!

Of course - I have never actually eaten at a Waffle House - but the fact that there is one on every street corner in the South makes me a little worried. :D

Couple of my firends begged me to go to waffle house with them a few years ago, that's just the type of place black dudes are just not seen at. I went anyway, my first and last time there. The disgusting atmosphere was offset by two rednecks brawling in the parking lot, one asking me (the bald black guy sticking out like a sore thumb) for help, at least I got to laugh in his face, in between the fists he was eating.

I felt like I was at a carnival freakshow.

Needless to say, IHOP.

BTW, for late night after-the-get-together-get-togethers, nothing beats Denny's.

I dunno if the Denny's near here is a rare occurence but it's comparable to Waffle House, greasy dirty nasty disgusting and the food is horrible.

Probably why some people hate ihop, must be a pos crew there that does next to nothing and have subpar cooking skills.

Waffle House just has horrible tasting food, I don't care how drunk you are or how big of a hangover you have etc. the eggs taste fake or watered down (wtf?) and the toast is usually below room temp when you get it, the Eezee cheez feels like you are swallowing thick goo (stfu pervert)....I'm not a big fan of hashbrowns so I wouldn't know but I guess they are good there.

Zoo needs to realize he has no idea what he's talking about, the waffle house pancakes are runny, how the -fuck- do you make runny pancakes

I haven't eaten at IHOP in so long.....I haven't lived near one in forever.

They do have decent like burgers, etc?
and stay open 24 hrs?
If that's the case it's no contest...

Otherwise conveinance will win out late night and wafflehouse will win.

Of course there are other late night options besides these and Denny's.....Perkins, Steak & Shake, and White Castle....

Noone in this area (Cincinatti) eats waffle house...we have 2 of them but it's rare for people to go there. In Atlanta they are always busy...and there are TONS of them....In Florida they are so poor they have generic waffle houses...like "Omelette House" etc...with the same block letter signs etc haha...I've eaten at them a couple times, same exact thing as waffle house...just white w/blue instead of yellow w/black.

I am a long time WH frequenter in many different states. Some of them are so disgustingly filthy that I refuse to eat there sober ;) However, not all WH's are created equal. Some are as clean as any other fast food restaurant. With that disclaimer...

WH after midnight, but before sunrise.
IHOP or Denny's any other time.

Also important to note, Denny’s in some states serves beer.

Anyone out west know about Coco's breakfast?

IHOP anyday, as long as I go out of town to eat it though. Any restaurant that is built in Decatur starts out good and normal, then gets "Decaturized." IHOP is about 3 months old now here, so it will still be good for another 3 months or so.

I've eaten at both several times and they both suck. Nothing can lay a hand on SE Portlands 24-hr Hot Cake house right across the Ross Island Bridge. This place is so good that it takes almost an hour to get your food if you go Thurs-Sun after 2am. The clubs close and people flock there. You will see people sitting on the curb and shit even in the winter just to eat since the inside is so small and generally full 24 hours a day. The late night drunk food here has yet to be topped in my travels.

All of the Denny's near me have gotten progressively shittier and more expensive, to the point where I feel like I'm wasting my money going there. The *only* good thing about Denny's is that it's open 24 hours. I miss 24 hour restaurants so much when I'm in Montreal (well, the West Island anyway). The only one we have there is Chenoy's, which sucks 10x more than any US 24 hour restaurant and is twice as expensive.

That said, I stick by my earlier statement: fuck breakfast restaurants. In fact, fuck breakfast!

I think Perkin's is the highest quality 24hr restaurant I have eaten at.

But I've only seen them in the Cincinatti area.

You know it has actual chairs, not just booths or chairs that are for some reason bolted down to prevent theft or something. It also has carpet, bad carpet, but still...

The cooks are NOT visible from the dining area, and if they were, I doubt they wear paper hats.....

The food is OK...better then say dennys....

Guess it depends on how much you like butter...
If you have a passionate love affair with it the defintely Waffle house...
However, if you like tasting actual food and not just butter, then IHOP.

Course , i don't eat breakfast either, but i do know that when i was in NC, i almost gagged at the site of a Waffle House by the time i left.

I live in the Diner capital of the world so there's little sense in doing the chain thing; save IHOP. IHOP came up w/ some pretty cool omlets(not that it's rocket science, but) and the only time I've seen a waffle house is if I actually drove to Florida. The I wins

IHOP after you've been sitting at a table with 10 other people roleplaying (AD&D, 7th sea or therein) and Waffle House after you just got out of the clubs.
