Secondly, cosmetic tests are far from putting rouge on a rat. The methods involved are often extremely painfull, endured for an extended period of time and lethal.

However I believe that:

I will admit I only skimmed through this thread as I am about to log onto EQ and don't want to reduce my fix of EQ 
I was unlucky enough to see the Puppy being killed on CNN live at work. I felt physically sick after watching it and had to leave the room. The anger that I felt while watching this creature being put to death for nothing other than for show was unbelievable. I had to go for a walk I was that upset, as some poor bastard at work was going to cope it otherwise
In regards to testing cosmetics on animals I agree with Leyor we need to stop it in our own backyard also.....however what this video showed us was that they very well have the ability to launch bio weapons on us at any time. I think what brings the angry feelings out is what the means to the end is, that is testing cosmetics is for money, testing weapons = mass destruction. That is why people get so upset when they view this. Where as they may be repulsed by Leyors pics (as I was, OMFG) but this wont affect them directly other than having nice perfume, so most wont give 2 shits.
On the other side of the story is testing vaccines on animals for the purpose of medicine. This although still upsets me is a necessary evil that man has done since the dawn of time. My wife works in a uni where they need to do this to ensure things work ok. I have saved a rabbit from it's death as they all must have a companion rabbit (the ones being experimented on) but once they are finished most are put down. I have her on my lap atm

personally i'd prefer any sort of testing to be done on criminals in jail than animals. Rather than the public paying for prisoners welfare, this way they'd at least be putting something toward the community.

A conversation based on religion is always going to make you feel like you are in High School again during the monthly debate class. Looking at where everyone is from, I dont think that anyone will see eye to eye when it comes to religion.There are some people who believe it truely is ok to eat things most people have for pets,to use children or animals for gun practice, to rape infants to protect them from disease etc. Then there are people who would like to use those people who do that for gun practice and then feed them to their pets. Had it been some years back before Mary Kay got nailed for using collagen and other things from aborted infants, we would be wearing makeup containing parts of a fetus.
