Some people know this by now, some don't, so just an FYI.
In your eagerness to go out on patrol and crack some heads, keep something in mind:
You get souvenirs for completing mission story arcs, that is, a set of missions.
They are like badges in SWG.
They signify how many story lines you've completed and are exactly what they say they are, a souvenir. On your ID card, it will list which souvenirs you have.
Some people may care about them, some may not. But those who want to experience all the stories CoH has to offer, had best be careful not to out-level their beginner missions.
Mission story arcs will end if you go above their intended level. What this does is end the story arc for that contact and you won't be able to get the rest of the missions, thus you won't get get your souvenir for completing the mission set.
While not an issue in the mid levels, this is easy to do in the first 14 levels since those pass quickly.
If you want to get the most out of each story, do just the missions, and only kill a few baddies on the way back and forth. If you kill everything you see and rack up the levels early on, you'll miss out on OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of content.
