Thanks to everyone who played along! I ended up telling some people to help incite the masses. The moderators all knew, as well as a few people that I told because I was afraid they would be going to spend money or time on a new board.

Anyway, I hope at least some people think it's funny. I've received somewhat mixed feedback but I think most will appreciate it for the joke that it was intended for.

Edit: Nobody is pregnant or getting married either. That was just a compelling story to make the 'sale' more believeable.

well...that, and the "banner ads" up top were housed in the VV images folder and called in the HTML without any sort of click tracking. Basically just replaced the normal header images.

I was certain it was a joke from the start, but finding that was what cinched it for me.

Yeah, I accidently posted as Xou when I meant to post as Yantis. The post was there for MAYBE 5 seconds, and Colal got a screenshot of it. ><

I admit, I fell for it. But $20k for the board, no input from Py, there were all these little things that made it sound like something wasn't right. So I sat back and watched it unravel.

Actually, my roomie and I thought of it after hearing about the whole Yantis being hired by IGE a while ago. I've never heard of your board (EZ Board is below me.) so there's really no way we could have 'copied' your idea. I was actually bummed out that the community was going to be broken up. I bought it, now time to go read through all of the hate posts with some popcorn.

The thing we need to realize in this Holiday Season is that the community cannot be broken up, merely relocated as we've done in the past. Thanks Xou for helping to teach us all that!
