There was a sign outside a tiny rural gas station in Arkansas that was hand painted and read "Hep yer sef". I have a picture of it somewhere. It always makes me smile for some reason.

I heard a radio advertisment for a baldness remedy that ended with the phrase "Guaranteed imperceptible results". Well if I wont percieve results, why use it?

I think they meant that it would be gradual results that wouldnt be percieved as "Hey you have hair today" but who knows. Maybe they're just honest folks.

Saw this on a sign in Maine:

"Don't like the paper industry? Try wiping with plastic."

"A better life through chemicals" was the catch phrase of half the dopers in the Midwest after those billboards went up in the late '70s

Every Birminghamian remembers the TV ads done by a local redneck furniture retailer about 15 years ago.
The owner/spokesman would say "Ronnie Marchent Furniture, we have everwhatcha need."
