Years ago, the company I was working for at the time hired some efficiency goons to evaluate our processes shortly after we were purchased by a private equity firm. I was assigned the duty of participating in a "Terms and Acronyms Review Panel" to standardize the T&A we used throughout the company. The panel consisted of myself and 4 other low level managers, and I was the only male on the team. I was chastised by my fellow panel members when I suggested that our first order of business should be selecting a better name for our efforts. The T&A team went on to be one of the most ridiculed efforts of the efficiency goons.

We have a common term used around here "single topic documents." STDs! I try to avoid the acronym when discussing file transfers

ICARE, MOJO, and MAST, our acronym guy is gay though.

Well, our system for registering incidents (our job list for you non ITIL-people) system are called HOVSA (basically translates to "whoops", as in what you say when you make a mistake)
