Ok, so I'm an 80s/Greatest Hits CD freak. I just bought David Bowie's greatest hits and it's pretty pimp. I love having all the songs you've ever loved on a single CD. My question to you (and maybe I'll even find out some greatest hit compilations out there that I didn't know existed) is, what are your favorite CD compilations? Even home-made burnt ones count!

The following are a list of mine that I don't think I could ever grow tired of:

The Car's Greatest hits
Heart's Greatest hits
Journey's Greatest hits
Toto's Greatest hits
Madonna (Immaculate Collection & Something to Remember)
Erasure Pop! The hits
New Order (Substance)
Pretty in Pink Soundtrack

That's all I can think of for now 8)

The 80's were EEVIL!!! Stay away!!!

Seriously though I went from 4 to 14 during the 80's. The only thing I miss from back then are the cartoons.

The Smiths - Louder than Bombs is by far the best comp CD ever.

The Cure - Staring at the sea is good too.

I dusted off Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" (greatest hits in all but name) last week while drunk and in VT. It ruled. I wonder if it still does in the cold light of day heh :)
There are also some great Ramones anthologies worth checking out. Same with "The Story Of The Clash Vol 1".

LOL! Reading through all of your lists I came to realize that I pretty much have all the ones you have all listed save a few. I can't believe I forgot The Cure (Mixed Up and Galore) and Fleetwood Mac though. If Morrissey came out with a greatest hits I would get it for sure.

There is one particular old, old album by the Cure that brings up major nostalgia. "Staring at the Sea" I could definitely listen to over and over. It reminds me of spending an entire summer in the pool putting that tape on repeat.
