2. She has heart and soul and is obviously full of love and compassion...all of which you seemingly lack
3. People like Sara should be praised for overcoming their physical limitations.
4. After reading her words I am 100% certain that she can spell "speechless" correctly...and you cannot.

While I agree that Ashlee Simpson has no business singing in public...her 15 minutes were up long ago...why do you feel that this person has no business singing in public? Some people find her inspirational. But then again, it is all a matter of opinion. Any my original post wasn't meant to debate opinions but merely to point out that whether you think this inspirational or not, it is not something to really make fun of and laugh at....

I worked with hundreds of children with CP over the course of a year and a half. I can tell you that this is a horrible disease. The thing that gets me, and a lot of you don't understand is that there are actually PEOPLE inside there. They have emotions, hopes, humor etc. Try for once to see past the physical ailment and understand that their brains work just like yours do. I'm a pretty easy going guy, and I do my best to laugh at "bad" or "crude" jokes, but finding even a hint of amusement through someone else's living torture is pretty fucked up.

Yeah I'll have to agree, thats pretty fucked up if you find humor over that. Obviously she cannot help her physical disability. If she found something she can do and she enjoys doing, why not do it? As said above some people may find it inspirational. But for ffs making fun of other peoples disabilities they cannot even help is stupid as fuck, thats one way to make yourself look like a emotionless retard.

I wasn’t hating on people with CP, hell I've known people with CP and I know that it sucks. But if you can not see the humor of someone singing with text-to-speech software and that person being taken seriously enough to actually perform in major venues then you need to get over yourself. Writing songs when you can not speak is one thing but singing song s with text-to-speech when you can not speak is just funny.

Frankly, I somewhat agree with Brittney. I wouldn't laugh at it, but I wouldn't credit her with overcoming a phsyical barrier, other than the fact she can use a machine.

Sorry champ, she's not singing, the machine and software are. Maybe the DynaVox sings better than Brittney ( and probably myself ), but crediting her with singing is pretty stupid.

If she writes songs, more power to her, that's awesome. It's wrong to belittle someone because of their physical faults, but I wouldn't call it right to compliment them for something they're not even doing.

That's the equivalent of giving someone in the Special Olympics a go-kart and saying they can run 40 mph because they know how to drive it.

I generally don't care for jokes about physical or mental deficiencies. I'm indifferent to this one but rape jokes or abuse jokes get to me sometimes though so I can't blame people for taking offense to particular things they don't find funny.

Brittney's second post sums up my feelings here completely, her disease is horrible and I am in no way bashing her or any other people with that disease, they have my deepest sympathies.

I laugh at the notion of her using that silly machine and actually being taken seriously enough to play at anything other than private family sessions. Taht is imho the biggest form of bullshit, she has no real reason to do that and anyone could sing using that machine, it is only because she has CP that people invite her in to show how they "feel for her" etc. I say bullshit.
