The money line is currently +160 for the Colts, so I'm proposing the following action.

I'll take the Patriots and give 1.6:1 odds on VVs in the game tonight on anyone who posts in this thread with what they want to bet before kickoff. Max bet of 100 VVs.

for example: you bet 50 VVs and the Colts win, I pay you 80 VVs tomorrow. If the Colts lose, you pay me 50 VVs tomorrow.

I will take the Colts for 100 VeeVees.

Don't forget that Tom Brady is a Michigan man, Kilmoll. You sure you want to get burned twice in one week?

Perhaps in the future I could act as a bookie and take bets for both sides, I'll do that next week. Could end up being a good VV sink to curb boardflation, as the house always wins!

I can't bet on the Colts because they're going to lose : ) The weather is predicted to be bad, Patriots defense rocks, Manning/James not so good on grass compared to turf.

I'm tempted to take the under which is all the way up to 44.5 from an opening 41.5 except I can't predict defensive TDs in shitty weather.

My best bet for the game is Pats -3.

Brady had a monster game. I'd have a hard time deciding over the defense causing three turnovers in the red zone (2 fumbles, 1 int) and a key sack taking IND out of easy FG range or Brady for MVP of the game.

eh I disagree, Brady showed some rust. Not as much as the Colts but he wasn't THAT great either. Also, Colts lost for one simple reason: Mike Doss got injured. Entire game changed when he left.

Man....the Colts defense is just terrible. Didn't help that Edgerin James decided he liked to lose and coughed up the ball on the goal line. There were guys running wide open with no one on them.....they better find some D in a hurry.

I guess we also did see exactly how much Ted Washington helped them. James had 140 yards rushing on them.

What are you talking about? Brady was throwing some laser beams out there and completed almost 70% of his passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns. That one pass where he threaded the needle and hit whoever that was at like the 40 or so was one of the best balls i've ever seen thrown.

Yes he had good passes. However, I think when he sees the video of the game he will regret some of the decissions he made. Some of his passes were too high-risk and I strongly believe if Doss was in the game he would have been picked off more than the one time he was.

He threw about 5 passes where I thought "damn that was a nice pass". The others were some bad bad defense. One rollout he had he threw back across the field and there was no Colt within 30 yards of the receiver.

They did show the blueprint on how to beat the Pats.....run the ball, run the ball, run the ball. They couldn't stop shit on the ground. Hold onto the football and you win. Fumble it away and you lose.

Something else to keep in mind is that Brady ran 3 or 4 complete series with 5 wide and no RB. Do you realize how difficult that is? The defense knows the pass is coming on every down, and they still couldn't stop it.

Dungy is running the Cover 2.....with no playmakers like he had in Tampa. Brady's receivers were always open over the middle in the soft spot in that zone. He better start finding out who can play man to man against a team like the Pats or they will be in trouble.

The Pats system kills a zone defense.

He has experience, even though he is young. He got it in college, and he is heads and shoulders above his replacements as safety. And he is a major factor in how they stop the run. Dillon got a lot more room when Doss went out, and that makes it a hell of a lot easier to pass as well. Plus Doss is a fairly good hitter and the secondary got soft and inexperienced without him.

Btw I am not saying Brady wasn't good. He was. But I do think he would rething some of his decissions.

I was extremely impressed with Brady. The first and third Patriot offensive series were basically in your face Payton manning type drives albeit without a running back at all. That was awesome. it was also kinda funny to see Dillon sitting on the sidelines for the entire first series. He did look like a servicable back though when he played and should work out well for the Pats this year.

I don't know what you're looking for in a QB but Brady outperformed Manning last night. Brady showed how calm he is in the pocket during the play that Dillon leveled a blitzing Colt. He calmly stepped to the side and even waited in the pocket for another blitzing Colt to be blocked and threw a long bomb. On the other hand, Manning was so focused on one receiver running down the left side that he was leveled by Willie McGinest. It didn't hurt that the Colts left him unblocked.

If I wanted a QB for a football team for one game and had to build a team today, I'd pick Brady as my QB. He's proven himself over three seasons to be the most reliable QB in the game. The interception he threw last night was his first in his last 288 attempts! Hell, Manning threw 4 in one game in the playoffs.

I think you are overrating Mike Doss just a bit there. He is definitely not the biggest reason the Colts lost. They lost simply because they did not have the discipline on offense to not turn the ball over THREE times in the red zone. Hold onto that ball and don't throw an interception, and they likely would have had at least one more touchdown and two more field goals. In a game decided by three points, that was definitely the deciding factor.

Mike Doss is a pretty good player, especially for being so young in the NFL. Good tackler, and not a terrible pass defender as well. But he isn't the difference maker that you make him out to be. At least not yet.

He wouldn't be if they had a halfway decent replacement. They don't. The step from a good player to a decent inexperienced one is huge. Madden commented on it as well a few times during the game.
