SOE took a good game with a few problems and bad customer support and turned it into a steaming pile with the worst customer support in the history of suck.
Expecting these assclowns to put together a good game is like expecting syphillitic monkeys to start shitting out golden eggs; it's just not gonna happen.

If Sony's top people get their asses away from development and let the people with actual brains and a love for gaming take over, EQ 2 will be the only thing to ever end EQ 1's reign. If they get that money hungry retardation that they ended up with in SWG and Planetside, then it will be a pile of shit so bad that it won't even be steaming.
Blizzard is so slow that I fully expect their first release of WoW to be targeted to Commodore 64. I can't even begin to imagine how long it will take those slack asses to patch exploits and bugs in WoW. If I was a betting man, I would lay some serious jack on that game being completely fucked up and out of balance to the point that they will have to wipe the servers or it will end up a horrid piece of shit. By the time they figure it out, people will have left and be right back in EQ 1 or 2....depending on how 2 turns out.
NWN is going to be a game that may never fall off the map. The best part about that game is that it is only limited to the imaginations of the people who play it. That means you will continue to see shit tons of modules and you will see ideas that no company could ever create, as you have thousands of designers.
On a side note, I have just started into multiplaying with some folks and may end up opening other games to a few people from here. If you haev an interest, drop me a PM and I will try to get you details as things come together. I already have a ventrilo server up and running for using during play and will most likely end up with a dedicated NWN server.

I haven't played SWG or Planetside....I don't have much interest in that style, not sure why but I like my RPGs set in fantasy rather then science fiction...although I do like science fiction movies and such.
I think we feel the same way, SoE did pretty good on EQ....but if they would have had say someone like me on staff just for general direction....we would have done a better job on balance and bug squashing....sometimes it does feel like they have thier heads up thier asses.
But we also both agree that Blizzard has it's own fair share of problems. I will confess I didn't know diablo and warcraft came from different offices, but even that being said....it's the same company, and company policy generally dictates quality...and the company is in charge of funding, pressure for early release etc...not the little branch offices.
There is a chance Blizzard can pull it off and give SoE competition, and I actually hope they do. Because competition will drive SoE harder to perfect thier games and do good support and vice versa. I just see a bumpy road for Blizzard though....I don't think the odds are in thier favor.
