The brilliant thing about the scripts is that you aren't screwed if you don't get the references - they are added layers that expand the show for you, but they aren't required to follow the story.
You had me from metatextual...

It's over /mourn

I missed most of this season to be honest, but I did catch most of last night's finale. I liked it.

Truly an Epic finale! Anyone else surprised at who they picked to die in the final episode? I had a few other people pegged for grand heroic death, to be honest...

I was surprised as well, definitely not who I thought it would be.

I can't decide what I liked best, the moment with Buffy and Spike or the dialogue between Faith and the principle (I don't know his name, told you I missed most of the season!). Shoot, or the spell casting Willow...so many great moments!

Am I the only one who found the Buffy finale kind of disappointing? I don't know what I expected from it really, but I was expecting.... more somehow. It really surprised me that it was only an hour, when they've dedicated two hours to previous season finales (at least I think they have). I really did like the way Buffy solved the problem though, that was a really cool twist that I didn't expect at all.

I just hope that Spike is actually going to be on Angel becuase I love that character.

I was a little surprised it was only an hour too, but if you think of it, the past few episodes have all been the same story, just spread over a few weeks. I definitely wasn't disappointed tho... it was fittingly Buffy enough to be just right.
