I must have missed the news cast of the Kurds protecting them. As for Pakistan, they are working to find people connected with Al Qaeda IMO to keep from having us attact them. I think the whole reason their leader stood up after 9/11 against Al Qaeda was to keep us from coming in his country. The Kurds, who Saddam considers his enemies are known to be protecting peole associated with Bin Laden.
They may be in Iraq but they are not afforded asylum or protected by Saddam Hussein.
Powell and Bush have tried very hard to come up with any sort of connection between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda and have completely failed.
Most Al Qaeda operatives are currently located in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Why is there no push from the USA to invade those countries and start bombing?
From what is being said about Saudi Arabia (sorry I don't have a source for this, it's been a couple of weeks sense I heard this on a news show) is that in the near future we will be pulling all our people out of Saudi Arabia and all the clerics and other people that are extremist are going to be done away with or run out or put in prisions. The royal family is going to clean up their country. Do I believe this? Hell no.
And I believe that if Saddam wanted them out of his country they would be gone.
Safe Travels,

Yeah, all the proof that Bush/Powell could provide of Al Qaeda pockets in Iraq were from Kurdish controlled areas in Northern Iraq.I must have missed the news cast of the Kurds protecting them.
There's no way in hell Prince Abdullah is going to start imposing US foreign policy and throwing Muslin clerics in prison or running them out of the country. The anti US sentiment in Saudi Arabia is massive. They resent the US troops, they resent all of the US interests in SA and they resent the fact that America is slaughtering muslims. From what is being said about Saudi Arabia is that in the near future we will be pulling all our people out of Saudi Arabia and all the clerics and other people that are extremist are going to be done away with or run out or put in prisions
Abdullah may be kissing American ass but he knows how much his people despise the USA... he's not a stupid man.
The same can be said of Musharraf.
Yeah right. And I believe that if Saddam wanted them out of his country they would be gone
Are you really that ignorant about Iraq?
Saddam Hussein has absolutely no control or authority in northern iraq where the supposed al'queda camps are. He isn't even allowed to fly planes or move troops up there or risk having them shot at by US bombers. If the local government knows about them then the kurdish are guilty of harboring them.
You really have absolutely no intelligent grasp of the situation in the middle east if you think there are al'queda camps anywhere in Iraq.

The only reason Saudi Arabia allowed the US to set up bases was because of US intelligence reports shortly after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait that "showed" Iraqi tanks massing on the border with Saudi.
This was a false assertion. Not one shred of evidence showing Iraqi tanks even moved towards the border can be found. All the evidence available shows them stopping at Kuwait city and digging in. I found all this out from a documentary I watched a month or so; I was watching it thinking it was pretty damn interesting and very relevant but I suspected it was made by someone with a serious slant against the current war prospect. . .then I spotted it was made in early 2000.
US military bases a spit and a fart's distance from Mecca, in the Holy Land, that were invited instead of accepting Al'Qaeda's offer of protection - you can bet that chafe's a whole lot of muslim arse. Fundi and otherwise.
