Yes he told the world what he plans to do, but the reality is that he can't do any of that shit... He also can't assure you that the positives will outweigh the negatives, assuming he pulls some of it off. He's not qualified to speak on his own plans, and he hasn't put forth anyone who has the qualifications to analyze his plans or their sustainability.

It's the best political speech I've ever heard in my life, but it's a fairytale.

I would be just as critical of a republican spouting these dreams.

There's really only one part that people needed to hear, which is McCain's voting record of 90% in favor of anything Bush did. That's one hell of an albatross.

Stating facts isn't mudslinging. Specifically making comments along the lines of the time is too short and the problems too serious to get into a mudslinging match with McCain shows some signs that he's more interested in solving problems than trying to insult McCain. McCain does that to himself just fine.

Yes he told the world what he plans to do, but the reality is that he can't do any of that shit... He also can't assure you that the positives will outweigh the negatives, assuming he pulls some of it off.
He has the power to spark interest, get people thinking about and to push for these things. The fact that he'll do that is better than being told we're going to stay in Iraq indefinitely. I'll take someone with good intentions and a drive to get things done over someone that won't do shit anyday.

You're really retarded sometimes. Did you watch his speech last night? Did you see him reading from teleprompters? For anyone that paid attention, he didn't. Is this really your best argument? He's going to own McCain in the debates. The only way McCain has a chance is if he flips on everything he's said up until this point and tries to emulate Obama. Check his running mate, he's already on the way.

I think he was reading from the prompter, not all the time.

You will never get Obama to drop the uhms because uhm he uhm parses uhm his uhm words uhm carefully. Which you have to do when you are new. After the media knows you then you can get away with shit like McCain and Biden will. If McCain's new affirmative action VP makes a gaff the media will crucify her.

Dude, he was reading off a teleprompter. He's very good at it. He's also good at reading off written notes, with a few more pauses mixed in.

Speeches and Debates are totally different. You know exactly what you're going to say with a speech. A debate makes the wheels upstairs work harder. You're fucking nuts if you think Obama is going to sound as good as he did during a debate as he did last night.

Didn't you watch the primary debates? He'll do ok, but I suppose the debates are going to favor McCain if people think Obama is going to sound like he did last night in them without the Ums, pauses, etc. McCain may talk jibberish but he'll have less ums.

ums < free flowing jibberish

Seriously, if one person can watch this and take something from it that you did not, that doesn't make them "retarded" in any way.
Actually, had you watched the speech, and/or were not stupid, you would realise this is a perfectly reasonable thing to call someone who can come off with the sort of stuff that "bubba's wife" did. Although I don't know her, or feel any ill will towards her, the comments she made are completely retarded.

Last nights speech was an epic speech, I have no fucking clue what planet Sirton is on where McCain will somehow defeat the oratory of Obama in the debates. Planet moron presumably.
Last nights speech was Epic I agree......Obama in speeches can focus get his head clear and read. Obama is great at speeches and the delivery..Hes bad in debates(Ive watched every debate including his senator election) and it really showed vs. Hillary, and Hillary had to hold off on the attack (since she thought she had it in the bag) untill it was too late and then she won 11 contest in a row....

Mcain will look like your normal senator in a debate then hell see the opening and RIPPP your head off and shit down your throat in a debate and make you look like a fool..that is if he finds a opening. And remember he doesnt have to hold off one bit vs. Obama like Hillary did.

Mcain can answer a question and make it clear who he is in 10 seconds.

Obama he has a debate on every question he is asked in his head while he answers, and it is because he is exceptionally smart. He has like 20 thoughts coming in at one time in his response, so it is hard for him to deliver a nice projected answer quickly like you have too in a debate. His answers sound like me in my post, and come out incoherent and moronic sometimes, and this is exactly the type of debater Mcain can clear his bowels out on.

Example recently(thats above my pay grade)

I agree with your points but I would add McCain's quick answers can be a liability at the same time. He often answers quickly because it is a question he has been asked before so he is armed with a stock reply or it is a question that lends itself to a talking point being used as an answer. Simple answers lend themselves to simple rebutals.

We have seen on a few occasions now what happens when he is asked a question he is not ready for, it ain't pretty. The debates should be interesting.

Hurricane Gustav potentially hitting New Orleans during the RNC is great news. It's going to give the republicans a chance to show their compassion and avoid answering a lot of questions while they shift focus to the hurricane relief effort.

PS: I wonder if people that live in New Orleans will ever figure out that they shouldn't be living below sea level where hurricanes wiping out your city are a possibility every year. Nah, probably not. Keep playing those blues!
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Officials with the McCain campaign and the Republican National convention are considering changing the event's agenda as Hurricane Gustav bears down on the Gulf Coast.

Sen. John McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, plans to meet with officials in charge of the party's convention planning in Minneapolis-St. Paul on Sunday to review the latest news on Hurricane Gustav and what their options might be and then consult with the presumptive presidential nominee to determine what changes may need to be made.

"I wouldn't call it a nightmare, but it is a very perplexing challenge," said a GOP official planning the event.

A senior McCain source said Saturday that officials are considering turning the convention into a service event, a massive telethon to raise money for the Red Cross and other agencies to help with the hurricane.

"He wants to do something service-oriented if and when the storm hits and it's as bad as its expected to be now," the McCain source said.

They are also hoping to get McCain himself to a storm-affected area as soon as possible.

McCain had suggested to a Fox News interviewer that the convention could be suspended if it seemed that a festive gathering was inappropriate in light of the destruction the storm may bring. VideoWatch as the Gulf Coast prepares for Gustav »

President Bush, who is scheduled to address the convention Monday night, is making contingency plans in case the storm keeps him in Washington.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said there are "no schedule changes yet, but we're making contingency plans" because of the hurricane. She said it is a "serious and scary situation," so the White House is "closely monitoring" the storm.

A Republican official involved in convention planning said that various options are being explored, including having the president speak to Republican delegates via satellite and updating them on the storm rather than traveling to Minnesota.

Perino said she expects to have more details by Sunday morning.

Republican Govs. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Charlie Crist of Florida, Haley Barbour of Mississippi and Rick Perry of Texas -- whose states that lie in the path of Gustav, named a Category 4 hurricane Saturday afternoon -- will skip the GOP convention because of the storm.

The storm has forced last-minute changes in the convention's announced schedule: If the convention -- originally scheduled to start Monday -- commences by Tuesday, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's speech will probably move to that night from Wednesday.

Other changes were being contemplated Saturday afternoon.

The hardest decisions, like whether to cancel a day or two of the four-day gathering or to or condense days, will be made at the last second, GOP officials said. But the logistics of those decisions are being discussed.

There are two scenarios under consideration for Bush's speech, slated for Monday night. If the president is on hand to speak, his wife, Laura, will give a short speech. If he is not, the first lady will give a longer speech, and the president will speak via satellite.

That decision will probably not be made until Sunday evening or Monday.

Officials won't discuss in detail how McCain's plans might change. They won't talk about McCain in any detail, but he is likely to go Monday or Tuesday to an aid station in an area hit by the hurricane, if it continues on as expected.

Earlier Saturday, President Bush declared a state of emergency in Mississippi, following similar declarations in Louisiana and Texas.

The president ordered federal aid to supplement state and local efforts in the areas in the forecast path of Hurricane Gustav.

Bush checked in with the four governors whose states are in Gustav's potential route.

The president pledged the full support of the federal government to those states, White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said.

Bush and his administration were heavily criticized in 2005 for not moving fast enough to send federal help to the Gulf Coast when Hurricane Katrina hit.

That's the point. This is their big opportunity. Gustav (sounds Russian...foreign threat evil empire type evil...nice work hurricane namers!) will probably whiff on hitting New Orleans but there will be a flood of support with plenty of coverage during the RNC. McCain can bring a dog rescued from the storm on stage (a black one) and praise Jesus that the dog was saved. They can follow that up with a story about a homeowner shooting a looter after the storm, praising the NRA's efforts to protect the 2nd amendment.

If needed, they can add rumors about a new weather controlling device the Iranians are working on that may have caused the increase in hurricanes. Palin can chime in that she's all too familiar with bad weather, being from Alaska and will make bad weather one of her priorities as VP.

Interesting how other countries report U.S. election news:

http://video.milliyet.com.tr/default.as ... 01.09.2008

(hit "play" after the page loads)

I have no clue what they're saying but they kept playing "American Woman" and show Sarah Palin shooting an automatic rifle four different times during the video.

Good stuff. Means they fear the gun toting soccer mom! First thing I could understand was "Barracuda".
