I still don't gather why they are only saying there are 8 of them. I would imagine that Clair is circling the drain and Jack can't save her. Another thing that gets me is in the first episode, one of the nurses in the hospital indicated that Jacks father was upstairs on another floor....

This season is all over the road confusing.

So now we know the 6. Now the question is the eight. Which 2 "died" on the island. Claire feels like an obvious choice since the baby had to be explained to the rescuers and media. The eighth is still open. Could it be Charlie? He made contact with the boat. Could they not cover that up? Or is there someone elses existence that couldnt be kept secret from the outside world?

We also know what Hurlys "secret" is. When Jack visited him in the mental ward he assured jack hed kept the secret. That only 8 survived the crash and kate was the hero.

Are all the Oceanic 6 in Cahoots with Ben? Of course Sayid is. But the cover up story smells like Ben. And the tall black dude (bens enemy) is trying to break the secret.

And is everyone else anxiously awaiting the moment when the asian dude (ghost wisperer guy) stumbled across the cabin and communes with Jacob?

Yea, I pretty much figured it out as soon as they mentioned Kate had a baby. Whether it means Claire dies (lol helicopter) or just stayed on the island and somehow separated from Aaron (highly unlikely) remains to be seen. I don't have the over-riding hate for Kate a lot of people seem to have, but I will agree that she makes some pretty fucked up decisions. Things of note that have me really intrigued are A) the 3 playing cards bit, and B) what happened to the helicopter. As to the first, it seemed like he was either having memory problems or he has an ESP ability or something and it's out of whack on the island. For B, so many possibilities. They didn't follow the right heading and got lost, the time lapse thing fucked em up, the helicopter crashed... lots of possibilities.

I don't think anything happened to the Helicopter. Knowing how good of a pilot that guy claims to be, i think he made it back to the freighter. He assured the scientist that he would follow the bearing precisely. The question is, what happened to the people on the helicopter when it reached the freighter?

It looks like the helicopter might not have made it because Desmond started to freak out. Did you guys see the preview for next week? Or maybe it has something to do with the 31 minute time delay that affected the payload that the ESP doctor called for.

Four more episodes until Michael returns, can't wait!!

The next episode will be about what happens on the helicopter. Agree with Kaldaur, the time delay with the payload has something to do with why the helicopter didn't make it to the freighter.

The whole 8/6 thing is very interesting. Based on witnessd filmings, the 6 should be
[Show]
Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Jin & Sun
but that doesn't include Aaron. Why not? Maybe he's not "counted" because he's an infant? Maybe his survival was covered up? If so, there would be no reason to say that Claire survived the crash, so she may not be one of the other 2. Also, if people knew that Aaron was Claire's child, why would Kate have custody? Claire has surviving relatives and Kate is a fugitive. And then there is the question of why Jack doesn't want to "see the baby." Maybe somehow he feels responsible for Claire's death and won't see the kid out of guilt? Surely he has to know that the child Kate has is Aaron.

Re: The cards

It was a timed (stop watch) memory ("what do you remember") game, not some sort of ESP thing, so maybe Daniel has a neurological disorder of some kind that affects his memory.

Remember when we see him watching film footage of the crash and he is crying? He is asked what's wrong and he says he doesn't know. Maybe he just doesn't remember...

The 360 game Lost Via Domus comes out the 28th.

Seems like it is only worth it if you love the show.
Gameism - As much of a dedicated Lost guy as I am, I'm also a dedicated gamer and Lost: Via Domus has some series issues for me. The flow is, as I mentioned before, scripted and mechanical. Controls are great, there are less epic moments of the story that are frustratingly difficult while some key moments are surprisingly easy. Need to stop the plane from exploding? That's simple math. Need to get through the caves to find the cockpit? One wrong turn and you'll spend ten minutes traipsing around the jungle collecting coconuts to trade with Michael for torches.

The flashback sequences are well done. An effective device was found to make the experience compelling. You have fragments of a photograph flashed at you before you drift into a foggy replaying of the situation. Recapture the photograph with your camera an you unlock the flashback segment.

Final Verdict - Lost: Via Domus as a game hits its stride in the second act. Casual gamers who give the game a spin before purchasing probably aren't going to buy this game. Lost fans, of course, won't be able to stay away. This kind of narrow market appeal is a bad idea, because while Lost has an enormous fan base it's relatively small when you winnow it down to gamers and split that over the three platforms supported. Hardcore adventure gamers without a Lost addiction will be quick to dismiss its scripted by-the-numbers quests.

Bottom Line: It's a fair game that no Lost fan should go without. Non-Lost fans should stay away.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. Ok, how about this theory/reasoning behind the time lapse difference recorded on the payload thingie that was shot in:

The Island has a slower time stream than the outside world. The plane crashed, what....5 months ago? Thats how long theyve been on the island. The time difference may be a mechanism to explain Walts aging as opposed to the islanders. The time difference may also explain the helicopter absence (if it is really missing). And if more time passes outside, then Aaron could legitimately be passed off as Kates baby. If Walt ages one year outside per one month inside, then Kate could theoretically, get knocked up, give birth, and have the child age a year before the rescue happens.

Does anyone happen to have digital versions of this season saved somewhere? That straming version is complete and utter crap and my wife can't stand trying to watch it. We have missed this whole season so far while watching last season to catch up.

Last night was awesome. It had a cool Slaughterhouse 5 effect going on. Had a little blip of time distortion when the copter went just a tad off course in the storm. I was a little dissappointed that it was only 2004 on the boat. I was hoping for a time jump to current day.

Right, but he may have been involved with the crash somehow and just doesn't remember.

Yeah, it was great. This season has been a total head melt so far, but in all sorts of awesome ways. I'm surprised they have gone down this
[Show]
time travelling
route. It seems that its a little 'out there' for a lot of the average people who would watch a big show like this.

Personally I think its great. I just wish I even the slightest fucking clue what was going on. :D

I was so happy for Des. It was good to have a somewhat happy ending for an episode, considering Penny's phone call.

The show hinted at time travel last season. When the Others were brainwashing Alex's boyfriend in the room, a visual screen showed a message that said something about Time and Space. It was a passage hinting at time travel. And, we have images of Jacob, who looks a lot like characters we've already seen. Add in Jack's season 3 cliffhanger: "We have to go back!" with the implication that things didn't go the right way the first time, and I think it was safe to assume that we'd see some bit of time travel happening. I think they'll also use the time traveling as an excuse to save characters who have died, although that may be wishful thinking on my part (Come on, Charlie!)

Anyway, like most Lost theories, it's a mixture of optimism, hope, and total guessing, so take it for what you will. Looking forward to the next few episodes, culminating in episode 8, when we see Michael again!!!!

Well that wasn't the greatest episode, no big reveals or anything, but I heard that something big is going to happen next episode. In an interview, the actress that plays Juiliet said that when she read the script for the episode after hers, something that happens upset her enough to make her cry. So looks like there might be an important death?

The show will be Jin/Sun centric.

I think we all know by now that Michael is on that fucking boat. They better reveal him next week!!

I just know that Michael is going to ruin the show for me again. he's the reason I stopped watching Lost in the first place. When I found he he was gone from the show, I went back and caught up on episodes. I pray it doesn't happen again. If I have to hear about his boy one more fucken time, I swear I'm gonna go crazy.

As for last night's episode, the only big reveal I see is that Ben has that connection to the island to send the images to people?? I've had a severe flu/pneumonia, or some other shitty ailness, so maybe I misinterpreted Juliet's line, but didn't she say "Ben told me to stop them"?

She did say that. But she doesn't know about Jacob. My guess is Jacob was responsible for the shared hallucination. <strange spooky island sounds. lady appears. strange spooky island sounds. lady dissapears>

I don't think Harper was a hallucination. I think teleportation is more likely, seeing that it's something the Dharma Initiative was experimenting with.

I don't think it was the same. Those other instances have been singular, just them. This one both Juliette and Jack saw, so I'm chalking it up to a more substantial appearance. Was wracking my brain trying to figure out where I knew the actress for Harper from before it dawned on me she was the wife from Rescue Me!

I'm ashamed to admit that I hadn't even thought of Michael being the spy on the boat, but it makes perfect sense. My theory had been that it was Naomi's sister. Oh well!

Oh, and Ben at the end of that episode was fucking great! "See you guys at dinner!"

Thought this was funny. It's a poll on the LostPedia forums "Who do you want to die?"

Charlotte & Claire are very close, followed by Juliet, Miles, and then Sun. People really don't like the wimmin' folk of Lost!

Edit to add some funny sigs people use on that forum.

Great episode tonight, I can't wait for next week's Michael episode. Talk about filling in some questions.
[Show]
Tonight's episode only reinforces my idea that the time travel was introduced so the castaways can 'come back' to the island and fix what went wrong. I think it's safe to say that no one was 'supposed' to get off the island: all their lives have been terrible. My guess is that Season 5 will be about the attempt to get back to the island, half of the people currently hiding on the island, and the other half are the survivors trying to get back there, either by time travel or by regular transportation. Season 6 will be the rediscovery of the island, the unmasking of Jacob, and an attempt to set things right, so people like Jin, Charlie, and Claire won't end up biting it.

I was under the impression that there was only going to be 5 seasons? Hopefully I'm remembering wrong! Otherwise I think you're right. I think Season 5 will pick up where Season 3 ended; crazy, bearded Jack trying to get everyone on board with the idea and then finding out how to get back.

In regards to Jin's death, well... we don't know that he actually dies. The people who got off might be assuming he is, I dunno. And what was with Hurley? When he arrived at her door and asked if anyone else was coming, and she said no. His response was "good". ?!? Damn this beautiful show!

I don't see the previews for next week since I download the show rather than watch it on TV, but I'm guessing it'll be pretty interesting, what with Michael finally being revealed and all. Oh that whacky suicide boat!

Dregor, I wondered the same thing! What did "good" mean, and why did Hurley not want anyone else from the plane to be present? As far as Jin's 'death' being in question, you're right, we don't know the exact specifics. But his death fits with the theme that the Lost writers have been using in regards to characters biting it. Whenever a character redeems themselves, they end up kicking the bucket. Boone in the plane, Shannon searching for Walt, Charlie diving below to save his mates. Jin redeemed himself by seeing that he set Sun down the path of adultery by his lack of emotion and distance in their marriage. He redeemed himself by not being angry at her, so bam! Time for him to die :)
I'm being facetious, of course, but either way, I don't want him to die. Jin is an all-around badass. Did you see his face in the store when the guy wouldn't sell him the panda? That's not the face of someone you want to mess with.

Dregor, 6 or 7 Seasons. The show is running until 2010.

And I agree with Kalduar. I think he really is gone. Maybe with time travel though they'll be able to save everyone! :)

When did they announce this? The last I heard there was going to 5 seasons as well. I'm glad to hear they are planning on having more since the writer's strike shortened this one!

6 seasons is what was last announced. It was also linked here several times. Might check last season's thread to see what you can find. I guess it "could" be considered 5 seasons with the lost episodes (hehe, a funny) due to the writer's strike.

For those of you who can't read Korean (lol), the date of Jin's death, on his tombstone is September 22, 2004, the day of the crash...

That means Jin is NOT one of the Oceanic Six! Unless they are counting Aaron as the last one, we have one more person to account for!

I think Michael is the last of the Oceanic 6, which would explain the funeral we saw in he first episode.

Yeah that would explain the "newsworthyness" of whoever committed suicide, him being part of the Oceanic 6. He must change his name again though, because the newsclipping shows a partial name "Jo-- --tham" which doesn't match any name we know yet. It does say something about the guy being survived by a teenage son (which sounds like Walt to me), but if Walt was on the plane and now isn't that would raise some questions.

Hrm, I'm reading on LostPedia now that Aaron has been "confirmed" as the last Oceanic 6 member, but I'm not sure in what capacity that confirmation was made.

Id be interested to see why they say that. How do you explain him? He was born on the island and there is no way his name could have been on that plane charter. I doubt he is the 6th.

He wouldn't have to be on the charter to be one of the 6. He did survive the crash too inside of Claire. Besides, the previews last week kept saying "Find out who the last of the Oceanic 6 is this Thursday" hinting that she was the last member that we discovered.

Someone twisted my arm into saying that I would start watching this show.
I think I'm probably the only person on the planet who doesn't watch the show.
I am concerned that the overwhelming amount of hype that every living sentient being on this planet emits about this show will leave me underwhelmed...but I shall try to clear that from my head before I begin watching.

Yes, don't read spoilers and START FROM SEASON 1. Don't try to jump in now. Eric and I blew through Season 1 and 2 on DVD in a few weeks. We couldn't get enough of it honestly :)
