The extension makes it possible to open bookmark/history item in new tab when left clicked.
The extension also caches recent closed tabs, so you can reopen them with a single mouse click.

Not explicity compatible w/ 2 rc2, but might work.
Oh, and pre-emptively: Whiner! =)

Why click the middle button when 99% of the time I want to open a new tab when I click on a bookmark?
Clicking the middle button sucks with a mousewheel doubling as your middle button. It's hell on your middle finger having to push that thing down...the unstable wheel button could cause a slip off the edge of the wheel resulting in sprain of your finger and some unforeseen click of the left or right mouse buttons, causing additional trauma and grief.
It makes much more sense the way this guy has the extension setup...normal left click opens bookmarks in new tab window, middle click will open the bookmark in the same window if you want to revert to archaic browsing methods.
This trolling thing is fun! Though I kinda fucked it up by being helpful in the middle

Have you tried FF2 on Vista ? I'm running Ultimate Beta 2 Build 5472 (from DefCon).
I've been switching back and forth between IE7 (which I hate more the more I use it) and Opera 9.0, which I prefer over IE7 but have some compatibilty issues with some sites.
I havn't thought much about firefox on this system. Mind tossing up a link to download FF2?
So far, I like the extensions of Firefox, which are required to make it worthwhile.
I also like how it imported preferences, bookmarks etc from Opera so I was up and running quickly
Initial impressions are positive if you take the time to find useful extensions (most already included in Opera 9) and also screw around with the about:config settings.
