Cartalas did you actually notice what my post was about? It was to make people lighten up a little, so that everyone on this god forsaken place aren't so concernced about sitting around in their homes, or where you're sitting, flaming others. The fact is, that if it wasn't for Xano, CT probably wouldn't have gotten this far. They're getting better, and getting on better terms with other guilds too lately. They're acting maturely, they're respecting others etc etc.

But this wouldn't even have been a question if it hadn't been for Xano. If he hadn't been a massive hardcore EQ player and dedicating his whole life to making CT big, we wouldn't even have this conversation. CT is still one of the best, biggest guilds on Veeshan and probably always will be thanks to Thess the new leader and powergamer.

My point is, that CT is a guild that has come a LONG way since Xano left, but they would have been in about the same place as "us" (RoW), Farstorm, PE, Sceptered Isle and guilds on that level, if it hadn't been for him pacing them forward to making his "dreams" in this game come true. You seriously can't make a good guild without dedicated leaders that have no lives if you wanna make it in EQ, and that's the sad part about it all. The leaders, more or less, can't have lives besides EQ, which is one of the reasons that I have stopped playing the game as much as I probably COULD be doing. I still find the game amusing, but I'm not a powergamer as when I first started it. The only thing that I'm sad about about that, is that I'm afraid that I'm letting my friends in my guild down, but I hope that they understand. I want a life besides this game, and don't want to be addicted for life as some will be. It's simply not worth it. It's a virtual world, and I think that EQ would be a better game if more people actually noticed that. :)

Yes I did Minfeeter I did and I am one of the few who agree with you on the Xan post He did help make CT what it was. But my comment has merit, you complain that Aranuil attacks you on every post, well you ask for it on every post. Do what I paid him 10K in Plat not to pick on me anymore.

I think a lot of you have been snowed (including much of my former guild). CT was around and pushing forward before Xan was the leader. Grimme/Sithe was the one who started pushing us forward in Kunark. Sirton, Doright, Lugon, etc were the ones pushing shit along in the original. Xanupox dedicated every minute of his spare time to CT....that I will never dispute. But to credit one person with the accomplishments is such complete and utter trash and ignorance that I cannot even comprehend it.

CT was and is a guild that is about the members. There was a core of 30ish people that made that guild go. Over time that core has changed gradually. You could add in the casual members or the people that would come and go....but that core of 30 was the heart of CT and got shit done. It is the rank and file members of the guild that spot the mobs up. They are the ones who rush to hold a spot. There has always been and always will be someone that will step up if no one is available from the leadership. That group will work hard, but will always follow someone who puts forth the effort and extreme amount of time to assume the leadership of the guild. If it was not Thess, it would be someone else. If you are old school CT, you know this is true. People come and go, but shit always gets done. To credit one person as what made CT a strong guild makes me laugh. Maybe you just need to have seen it from the inside since the first days to really understand it.

And to clarify one thing....I hold no ill will towards Xanubay because of him selling HIS account. But fuck him for selling guild loot, cash, dots, etc. Fuck him again for selling shit that was mine. Fuck him a third time for selling all the other accounts that were geared by CT or were not even his to begin with.

Grats anyone who thinks that getting shit done while being the most reviled guild on Veeshan is laudable. Xanupox caused more strife and hostility than any other person on the server. He also dragged what was once a very good guild with strong inter-guild relationships through the cesspool.

Atokal: You would be amazed at how many out-of-guild friends I had, how many clerics were willing to res me, how many members of other powerful guilds would ask me to group with or raid with them, while I was an officer under the tenure of Xanupox.

You know, just after CT steamrolled PD with me leading a raid down to trakanon, I HATED CT more than anything in the world. But about a month after that, three (3) members redeamed themselves, despite my flaming of them, they invited me (a paladin lol) into their group. I believe it was Kilmoll, some enchanter, and some cleric (sorry I can't remember). It was a blast, and after that I really had no qualms with CT. Shit, I think Xan even apologized for the steamroll. That was cool.

In short, yes, Xan did help CT. Also, though, the good members did a good job of keeping most of their reputation despite what COULD have happened/did happen.

Lay off of him already, guys. It's old news.

The only thing I want to know, if Xan is still reading this thread, is one thing:

Once upon a time CoE/CD was trying Vyemm while CT was off at Nev prep. Apparently they wiped and were in the process of CRing. Vulak was aggroed and Vyemm ran them over a couple times. They said it was on purpose and the rest of us said it wasn't. Now, since it matters nothing to you, you can come clean. Was it an accident or did you intentionally have Vyemm run them over?

That's the only incident in my mind where I have doubt. This isn't meant to start a new flame on old shit that's done with so let's not go there. But I would like to know what really happened that day. So if anyone wants to make a flmae about it, start your own damn thread!

He hates Xanupox out of blind ignorance. I hold nothing against Xan, but the board was getting slow pre-PoP.

CT has been and always was about more than one person, most guilds are all about one person. Hell Veeshan has even had guilds that were all one person who suckered in a few others. I think it is because we really were and still remain in some ways three guilds (and a fourth from the Formosa merge) and as such we always had a large number of people that thought like guild officers even as members. As they came from guilds where they WERE officers.

You know, only one time did anyone give me shit over being CT, and he is now a member

Not much to say on this one at all. If anyone that has knowlege of the pre-rooted dragons in ToV knows, to get Vyemm to a spot that he was killable, (PoM cubby) then you had to agrro Vulak, which then drew Vyemm up to the cross road and a tag was made to begin the fight.

CoE/CD CoH'd or somehow found themselves sitting in Lady Mir's lair and decided they wanted :"A SHOT": at Lord Vyemm.

The CoE raidleader and I talked and agreed ok, a shot would be given... and what CT had to do was basically SIT and wait. There was no way we could pull Vulak with COE fighting Vyemm so close, that would be too risky.

So CT waited, COE pulled and as we all knew they died... bad spot, bad situation.

I then considered the deal over and done. A SHOT was given, they either all camped or died and now it was CT's time to play the game. Vulak was tagged and Vyemm obviously runs past Lady Mirs lair, the first try on Agro and Tag, I guess a few COE were running around the area and agroed Vyemm, when he was on his way to rescue Sir Vulak. I had no idea they were still there, thought they had 100% wipe out. So I stop the pulls, Im like ok you got 20 min to packup CR your failed attempt and jet out of the area.

I wait 30 minutes... 10 more then wait was originally given.. just how long does it take to CR?? All the while the time on repops is narrowing for us sitting in the PoM cubby.

Finally after 30 minutes I assume they are long gone, the pull is tried again and Vyemm never comes... just a rampant barrage of /shouts on how I killed them again..

Thats about it really. From my point COE/CD should have never been there to start with. They either followed up behind us on our break, or they CoH'd into Lady Mir "PREP" as I think was more likely.

I out of the gracious of my good heart gave them "A SHOT" at Vyemm from Lady Mir Prep, since we were already in place at PoM... they were not only wasting our time, they had no real chance... that area is too open and insecure for the knockback. They died as expected.
