I think she was having fun. I don't want my President to be a humorless robot. I don't like her personally, but the opening was pretty funny. I also want to give her husband a lot of props for his dancing, he was really funny in the rap. It won't make me vote for them, but I give them credit for having a little fun, she has a chance to reach one of the pinnacles of her career, why can't she have a little fun with it?
I'd prefer a more dignified sense of humor, like for example Jimmy Carter, but then again, i'm not the American citizen voting for either! :D

Everytime you think Palin couldn't actually be any more of a total joke, she outdoes herself. Thanks SNL (first time I actually liked what a Bladwin was saying).

I don't know... I still think she's a tool and a ridiculous choice for a VP but I didn't think her being on SNL did her any harm. If anything, it humanized her a bit. I almost feel sorry for her.

Oh hey I think a lot of people feel sorry for her. i just don't see how that could translate into actually voting for her unless that person happened to be mentally disabled.

The Presidential election is not a beauty pageant. It's an old talking point, but it's as true now as when it was first said.

Yeah, if they were only serious it would and does get a little stale. However, this sort of thing is far funnier than going on SNL and participating in some unfunny sketches.

Thanks for posting Nick, that was hilarious. It is nice to see another side of these people every now and then. I also think that most SNL skits are bad, but those two were actually pretty decent.

Yeah, I'm just watching the McCain one now. It's pretty good too :P It's nice to see them not being total enemies for once. We need more of this.

Speaking of which.. I urge all of you to search around and find the full transcript of Obama's talk with Jackoff Joe. You'll see how much of a retarded idiot plumber man is. After having read it (this morning) I'm really surprised that McCain was balsy enough to bring it up. Now that it's spreading around, anyone with a brain is going to see what actually Obama said and agree with him 100%.

Palin charges Alaska for kids' travel
In all, Palin has charged the state $21,012 for her three daughters' 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights since she took office in December 2006. She also has charged the state for hotel rooms for the girls.
Also, RNC shells out $150K for Palin fashion
The Republican National Committee has spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August.

I don't think that she would be able to campaign in many states wearing eskimo parkas!

Spang,

I bet there are a lot of government officials who charge dinners with their mistresses, weekends away with the wife and other charges. I am not saying it is right, but I bet it is pretty common practice.

On the clothes front, again I bet this is probably common practice. Again I am not saying it is right, and I doubt they spent 150K on it, but this is one of the things I think is wrong with the government.

I think I read somewhere that 3 million dollars was spent to make the Hofstra debate happen and design the building correctly for the debate, there are many things more important then that debate that we could have spent 3 million on.

It's not the fact that this is common practice. It's that Joe Six Pack's VP choice is spending more on clothes in six weeks than most Americans spend in 80 years.
And she's doing it in stores that are located in 'fake America'. For shame, Republicans, for shame!

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/23 ... rk-mccain/
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. -- Presidential candidate John McCain isn't happy about having to explain why the Republican Party has had to buy running mate Sarah Palin $150,000 in clothes, hair styling and accessories.

McCain was asked several questions on Thursday about the shopping spree -- and he answered each one more or less the same way: Palin needed clothes and they'll be donated to charity.

McCain offered no further comment, except to say that the Republican National Committee doesn't buy his clothes.

News of the purchases, largely from upscale Saks Fifth Avenue and Nieman Marcus, contrasts with the image Palin has crafted as a typical hockey mom.
Why did Palin need clothes? I've seen lots of pictures of her governing Alaska, and she didn't appear to be naked in any of the photographs. She already had clothes. Why does a hockey mom from Alaska need a $150,000 change in wardrobe? I don't think the average person spends that much on clothes in their lifetime, and she claims to be just like an average American.

OH NOES! Why on earth is Sarah Palin wearing a Democratic Party keffiyeh, festooned with donkeys and the word "Vote?" Why won't McCain question her on her ties to radical leftist accessories?
