Cart really should be unbanned. The penalty was way too harsh considering all the factors and favoritism.

Could have banned him for a week or month in order to experience the powertrip rush and then let the board get back to normal.

Funkmasterr's recent imitations of Cartalas have been funny and while I never thought he should have banned in the first place, I'm reminded that what Cart brought was his own flavor of humor. If you look past the cunt slinging and whatnot, there's little denying he had an interesting way of posting. And if you don't want to look past the cunt slinging, then at least acknowledge that it was part of his character. He posted legitimate shit in Sports. All else was funny (except to those easily offended by a few characters on a voiceless messageboard where an option to ignore is readily available). And who are we to deny a man his own sense of humor? He was a button pusher and he succeeded wildly, with his last success being his own request to be banned.

Oh, and you can still push people's buttons and make a good argument. Cart couldn't make a good argument with a debate team for support. They'd pass him notes on flaws in logic and it would all still come out as "haha cunt".

Cart was the equivalent of someone that spits in your face and then sees that as some victory when you swing at them. Oh, wait... perhaps that's not a fair analogy.

Which brings up a question I've been wondering myself recently...Why do we even have mods anymore? We're not allowed (or even able) to moderate. Why not just do away with them?

Don't know about other forums but I do lot of mod'ing in the Comics forum and it has nothing to do with censorship.

I propose that we move on. The mods have stated their position, and the only way to exercise your disappointment with that decision would be to leave VV for good. We've all seen how long that lasts when someone decides to do it. Since neither side is going to change their minds/leave VV, just drop it.
