I'm bored, so let me state for the record that as was the case when the initial banning occurred as well as each time it's come up since then, I still don't give a shit one way or another. Cart was a useless troll whose posts weren't worth the time they took to read, so I would just ignore him for the most part if he began posting again (not that I think that will happen for multiple reasons).

Well, I had said I was done discussing it a year ago, and done what I thought was a fairly good job of explaining my reasons, but...

The difference is, if you do any one of those things, and are told to stop speeding/being late/cheating, yet you continue to do it, and the next day you pull your cock out and say "hey suck on this, cop!" as you fly past him at 100mph; come in 2 hours late and say "then fire me you fucking pussy" to your boss; invite a girl over to have sex with her in your girlfriend's bed when you know your girlfriend will be home in 10 minutes and then say "then dump me, cunt" when she asks wtf you're doing, chances are you're going to get arrested/fired/dumped. I'm the one who banned him, and I've taken full credit for it. I've made no excuses. I listed the legitimate reasons for his ban, and stated that it probably wouldn't have happened if he hadn't challenged me to do it, and asked for it. The fucking guy stated in his message that this place was lame and he didn't want to come here anymore. It's funny how Winnow is the most vocal proponent of bringing him back when he sent me more than one private message a year ago that say that Cartalas sent him a goodbye message right before posting that because he knew what he was doing, and agreeing that people should be banned for violating rules. No one's rights have been trampled, no one else has gotten the boot. The guy made a minority of people here laugh on occasion. He consistently made a majority of people here angry. He ruined more conversations, derailed more threads and made more personal attacks than anyone else on this board, and those cover at least 2 of our 4 rules. In multiple polls, more other posters on this board thought this board would be better without him than it was with him. And he thumbed his nose at me when I told him to tone it down. It's not unfair or unjust to punish the worst offender with the harshest sentence. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that's how the American judicial system works. And it's even less unfair when he knew what he was doing and literally asked for the punishment. Say what you will about that being a "just shoot me" type of thing...

Essentially, no. I said that to you and meant it to be for you only. You told me that unless I was a dickhead to you, it wouldn't be posted (I think you actually used the word wanker). You chose to not honor your word, and to be honest your reasoning means nothing to me, it's the principle of it.

I'll happily admit I've done something wrong, and feel tremendous remorse, once I have. Posting that PM wasn't anything wrong, even though I apologized for posting it right in the message where I did. I didn't really want to post it and held off for almost a year, but when someone does exactly what Xatrei described, they lose the assumption of privacy. Today I'd had enough.

Sylvus is the one that took full responsibility for Cart's banning. You can go back through the original threads to see that he asked that all shit be directed at him.

Where exactly am I being fraudulent? The only thing I mentioned in the PM is that Cart sent me a PM saying goodbye because he knew he'd be banned after Sylvus decided to make an example out of him.

Your justification for posting a private PM doesn't hold water. Not that I give a shit in this case as I didn't say anything incriminating. Pussy move to post PMs though.

Posting that PM wasn't anything wrong, even though I apologized for posting it right in the message where I did. I didn't really want to post it and held off for almost a year, but when someone does exactly what Xatrei described, they lose the assumption of privacy. Today I'd had enough.

What kind of logic is that? That runs along the lines of saying something like: I shot him but apologized for it right away so it's OK. It's amazing what kind of logic bombs slip by people. No doubt about it, someone from the opposite side of VV posts a PM and they get raped for it...but that little senseless comment justifies everything.

The gist of my PM was me acknowledging to you that you were successful in getting Cart to leave by threatening to ban him. Since you basically told me in another PM you would never unban him, ever, there wasn't much point to the whole thing to begin with save that Cart really shouldn't be permanently banned imo.

There have been several well thought out, valid arguments for Cart's unbanning but they to in one ear and out the other while the moronic "he asked to be banned" chant that summarizes the opposite side of the debate, gets rave reviews.

After Sylvus telling him a mysterious five people PM'd him about his posts and Cart being well aware of others breaking the rules? Hell yes it's different. If you got a threat that you were going to be banned after observing what everyone else got away with, without warnings, much less a ban threat,(and what certain Mod's did themselves) I'd say fuck it and do what Cart did as well. Cart was singled out because he wasn't with the "in" crowd and the "powers that be" didn't like their friends being flamed while nothing was done when the opposite occurred.

What a load of shit. Rules are enforced more harshly when someone willfully challenges the particular authority in charge of enforcing the rules to go ahead and enforce them. Cops let people off for speeding (or don't even pull them over) on a daily basis. Your boss doesn't always write you up for being late (at least mine doesn't). Your girlfriend might forgive you for cheating on her. The difference is, if you do any one of those things, and are told to stop speeding/being late/cheating, yet you continue to do it, and the next day you pull your cock out and say "hey suck on this, cop!" as you fly past him at 100mph; come in 2 hours late and say "then fire me you fucking pussy" to your boss; invite a girl over to have sex with her in your girlfriend's bed when you know your girlfriend will be home in 10 minutes and then say "then dump me, cunt" when she asks wtf you're doing, chances are you're going to get arrested/fired/dumped. I'm the one who banned him, and I've taken full credit for it. I've made no excuses. I listed the legitimate reasons for his ban, and stated that it probably wouldn't have happened if he hadn't challenged me to do it, and asked for it. The fucking guy stated in his message that this place was lame and he didn't want to come here anymore. It's funny how Winnow is the most vocal proponent of bringing him back when he sent me more than one private message a year ago that say that Cartalas sent him a goodbye message right before posting that because he knew what he was doing, and agreeing that people should be banned for violating rules. No one's rights have been trampled, no one else has gotten the boot. The guy made a minority of people here laugh on occasion. He consistently made a majority of people here angry. He ruined more conversations, derailed more threads and made more personal attacks than anyone else on this board, and those cover at least 2 of our 4 rules. In multiple polls, more other posters on this board thought this board would be better without him than it was with him. And he thumbed his nose at me when I told him to tone it down. It's not unfair or unjust to punish the worst offender with the harshest sentence. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that's how the American judicial system works. And it's even less unfair when he knew what he was doing and literally asked for the punishment. Say what you will about that being a "just shoot me" type of thing...

The only person on the board that actually annoys occasionally me is kyoukan and we freely go at each other without hindrance from the mods so it's all good. I try to make my flames entertaining except for a couple here and there that are directed at kyoukan.

You're doing a fine job mod'ing the forum and your behind the scenes work on the board is appreciated along with Py's etc.

I agree with all of this. I don't see why it had to be a lifetime ban, though. It's been a while and I, for one, would like to see if his posting habits would be any different. He was pretty prominent in the sports section and his trolling attempts worked so well on certain people that he deserves some genuine credit for accomplishing what he tried to do. I think the entire issue is overplayed by everybody involved. There's no crying in baseball and there shouldn't be any crying on a board where "ignore" is a valid option.
