sorry to bump the topic, but, I was still an active player when CT went down.. and im not quite sure why it happened. Anyone willing to fill me in? Looked like CT had a lot of things going for them.

But, what im really trying to ask is, who put the axe on CT?
(if that can be said)

A lot of different things effected CT dying. I will take the main blame for it though.

I wasn't happy for a long time, I made a post saying how frustrated I was on the message boards, I posted that it was either time for me to leave CT or step up in CT - that's when I was an officer, members posted I should be guild leader - Zairus gave me guild leader the following day.

To understand what fully happened and why I was to that point of frustration - You need to realise how CT's leadership was laid out. Basically - it was a democracy *everything* had to be voted on, loot, trial members, any policy change. CT had some good officers, but they also had some officers who didn't do anything, I'd delegate jobs for people to do - they wouldn't do them, I'd pick up the slack - then when it came to voting on things, they had as much say as I did. To remove an officer - I'd have to post a vote, in front of them, on the officers boards, and get 2/3rds of all officers to vote them out in front of them.

So I was made guild leader - being guild leader didn't take away the problems that I came to, again a few months later I was becoming more and more frustrated. I was getting short tempered, I fully realised one day when a member came to me (Neeferio) and told me, he had no problem with me, or CT at all but he wanted to leave the guild and join FoH, I found myself saying (no not in these exact words) GO RUN NOW LEAVE WHILE YOU CAN - I looked at what I was saying and realised that was not appropriate for the guild leader to be saying.

I decided then that after that nights raid - I'd guild remove, I started writing out my post, then at raid time we had 32 people on - I posted my post, said in officers chat - I'm leaving CT - who do I hand guild leader too? No response, waited a minute, turned, saw Zairus, handed him guild leader. I removed my own board access and turned in my droppable legs.

I then proceeded to get extremely drunk and eventually passed out. I woke up the next morning - logged into EQ, practically every current CT officer sent me a tell going, "What do we do now?" "I don't want to lead CT" So I joined the officer chat, I explained why I left, they all agreed with me and most felt it was time to move on as well. After awhile a 100% officer vote was made to leave the guild - No I didn't vote.

The question of - Who should post this information to the guild came up - I said I'd do it, my board access was restored and I posted it. We realised a lot would be applying to CD - so we made a list of of good members for CD to take. Bandog/Mullins (CTs original guild leader but he had just come back after leveling up Mullins) said he'd take control - the guild bank was given to him and leadership as well.

Bandog/Mullins tried to restore the guild but they could never really stop the bleeding, I helped Mezzmor (CT officer) some trying to help calm him down - CT looked like it was going to be okay, they killed AoW again, and then the warrior who received the BoC (Cerberus) e-bayed a few days later - that is really what seemed to really break the already struggling guild.

I know I'm missing a ton of details but basically that is what happened - Again, I take the blame for what happened to CT.

And no Raistin, Karae had nothing to do with me quitting CT - I wasn't even talking to him at the time.

Thess - thanks for explaining. While i was in OG, i had the oppurtunity to raid with CT a few times, and looked at it as a possible guild choice. then one day i see Luvinn with no tag, and CT members in other guilds.. never knew why.

Leading a guild is no easy thing, certainly a lot of pressure at times.

Honestly Thess, that is not the real reason CT is gone. Not that it did not help to send the clear message to people that it was time to end it.

The bottom line is that too many of the old timers that built the guild were gone. The people that were coming in just had no idea what those who were there in the beginning and with Kunark went through and what they did to build CT into something. To most of the people who had to go through dying repeatedly to learn how to do dragons and break planes, the loot meant something. It was a badge that said they earned it. By the end of Velious, all it meant was another 50 HP and people expected you to get them better and better things. It meant jack and shit and CT became nothing but a means to an end. If you lose the foundation to your house, it sinks.

I can't point the finger at you Thess. You were one of the few who seemed to "get it" after putting in serious amounts of time for other people to reap rewards. There were some that only came around when it was time for loot farming. Some of them are now Furor's problem. I would not say Drewon or Xaem either one would be one that did that specifically. Drewon is still gay.

Kylere is still just hostile about losing something he helped build and he doesn't have someone he can put it on to displace his anger.....and Drewon is just as good a target as anyone. Personally, I would blame Leyor just because he is a cocksucker. That is at least something we can all agree on!

I put more fucking time into CT day in and day out (So what if I was there for 5 fucking months, I still gave more time/day then your sorry ass did) then most of the other members. I personally logged more time in Ssra then any other person in the guild (206/206 in attendance checks if i recall) farming those fucking keys for people that logged on once a week, people that I knew wouldn't help with emp, and fucking faggots like you who run away and blame other people when the guild you were such a 'big' part of starts to fall apart.

I spent more time in CT waiting on raids to start, then you spent in CT overall. Glad you spent all that time in Ssra, what was that piece of loot you just HAD to have there again? We gave up chance after chance to compete by doing dumb shit like living in Veeshans Peak for a year ( ever been there newbie? didn't think so)

My emotions are in check, I played in a great guild of great people, and now I have to see BS from loser newbies like you, and it irks me to death, that is the source of any of my feelings on the manner.

It is almost impossible to progress in PoP without any VT gear at all - VT = ~1000hp 50svall 100atk 1500 mana ~ for an entire guild. (I'm talking about throwing a guild of level 60-65's at tier1/2 shit w/no experience beforehand)

I shall call bullshit here. Guilds can (and have) advanced into Tier 3 and 4 without farming VT. CT could not farm VT to advance as CDoE and Valhall both had the time advantages and would have it clear before our lunch time. We would have advanced along quite nicely and gotten PoP gear if the people we recruited had the attention span of a turnip. When people did take their heads out of their asses, we beat the first couple of tiers without much hassle. It was just extremely rare that people would actually fucking log on when we planned those as they did not see the easy drop loots that they wanted. See the means to an end post above if you need clarification. No one wanted to take chances and push to do things that were above our head. Of course that was the whole thing that made CT what the old timers loved. If we were pussies like that back in the day, then there never would have been a CT. Jesus....I would draw a picture but I still don't think you would get it.

No discrepancy here, I always made them when they were needed, just not by a rangers time clock. I di dnot leave when things were hard, I left when they were stupid, like when you were an officer. Actually, it was after PoP came out, and instead of moving forward from HoH, we were moving back to Ssra which is dumb as hell. You math is shot, we did not need Ssra to do PoP, it was not a logical progression anymore than we needed VP to do Velious.

I won you on played time, I quit playing so I hope you have more AA now, Your only experience is in things that have happened since I quit playing, I owned you entirely up until that point, Your only progression past me was AGAIN, after I quit playing. I have tons of friends from EQ, I have just as many enemies, because I remained faithful to my guild big deal only friends that count are RL ones. I have much more tolerance, I tolerated more shit then you will ever have a chance to face. As for common sense, YOU are STILL PLAYING EQ, I quit, see the difference? Dumbass.

Kylere was not to lazy to summon modrods on raids we needed modrods for. No he didn't think dps was more important he just knew it was situational.
Kylere was never an officer.
Kylere does know how to manage his emotions - just after three years of a guild making mistake after mistake after mistake, you tend to get sick of it.

Sorry Drew but when it comes to who helped the guild more, it's Kylere hands down. My initial post was just pointing out that you weren't a bad member because well you weren't.

Dude this thread sucked ass. If I hear the story of the downfall of CT one more time, I think my head will explode. In all seriousness, the CT powars that were should all get together make a thread that details the history of their grand organization, and then it should be stickied, and moved to the hall of fame or whatever it is we call it here so I don't have to see the same thing rehashed for the 12th fucking time.

I remember the Day Talib / Cerberus Ebayed... and it was a factor in why people got pissed after the fact. But people just stoped logging on and doing things basicly, or throw a hissy fit tantrum and quit the guild. I think me and Ruggle's where the last few straggelers left and even at that time the guild management tool was showing over 40 inactive guild members.

Best to remeber the guild as it was and stop rehashing shit. There are 1000 reasons why things could have been diffrent, yet the reality is that it is just a page in the history books now. So no matter what you did or did not do, does not matter now. What are you doing today matters, and what you plan to do tomorrow has more relavance.
