Would Cheap Trick -[ I want you to want me ] fall into this..hehe i hear it all the time now on a local station here now.Used to never hear it.
Too many great songs of the 80's to name.

have to add Boys of summer by Don Henley and Take my breath away by Berlin

and althought I cringe at the thought, who can forget big breasted squeeky voiced Samantha Fox with her Boys Boys Boys and other stuff, she was all over radios in Europe back in the mid 80's

For me though, I would say How Soon is Now by The Smiths is the quintessential 80's song.
