I am glad Arsecn mentioned RUSH! I don't think there is a better 3 person group out there.

Neil Peart = pure ownage on the drums
Getty Lee = Awesome lyrics and songs

Igloos are made with blocks.

One of the best bands ever to come out of Canada.
Sloan is the shit. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that Canadian bands write more intelligent songs than American bands. Rush, Sloan, (as much as I hate them) Barenaked Ladies... the list goes on. And I really like Alexander Keith's beer. And Toronto and Halifax are two of the coolest cities I've ever been to. Beyond those though, Canada isn't all that appealing.
Wow, really suprised someone else has been to Halifax :) What did you do here? Did you see the shifty eyed traffic light?! (yes we actually have a traffic light with shifty eyes here.. it's across the street from the traffic light in the graveyard.. don't ask ;p)

My Uncle lives in Halifax (or the area, anyway) and we went there for my cousin's wedding about 5 years back. I don't really remember the names of anywhere we went, except that there was a casino in the hotel we stayed in and I believe we went to someplace (nick?)named the Liquor Dome. We went golfing somewhere and to like 38275 bars in the 5 days I was there. I think it was also when the Buskers (if that's what the street performer people were called, memory is rusty after all this time) were there for some sort of festival or something. Unfortunately I didn't see the shifty eyed traffic light, perhaps I'll look for that the next time I'm in Halifax. =)
