While season 4 is most definitely over hyped...if you start from the beginning you will have so many vested questions, it will suck you in like the rest of us. The first two seasons are just very well done. Not that 3 and 4 are bad, but they are less than the greatness that was seasons 1 and 2.

Meh, season 3, especially the last few episodes, are my favourite so far!

Season 4 hasn't really even got off the ground, they're just setting everything up at this point, I suspect the last few episodes will be corkers again. Although I am getting a little pissed off that everytime I watch it I know less and less about wtf is happening.

Yeah, I liked season 3. Not sure I could say any season was my favorite, but Season 3 had lots of WTF action, and love it when a show makes me say WTF?!?! :) The Desmond time warp episode (in S3) was probably one of my top 3 episodes, if not my absolute favorite episode.

When this series ends, I'm either going to cry (because the ending will be amazing bittersweet perfection) or I'm going to punch a wall (because the ending will suck). I'm expecting an ending that will make me sob, dammit!

Wow, that was the first episode in a long time that totally did not hold my attention at all. I really could give two shits about almost every single thing in last night's episode. I hold true to my earlier statement that Michael ruins the show for me...I really don't care about him at all, or anything he supposedly brings to the story.
[Show]
Sayid turning him over to the captain as the traitor to the ship may end up being fun, but I'm sure it will just be something that back fires in the face of Sayid and causes more problems, and that might be good, as long as the captain at least beats the hell out of Michael in the process.

As for the part with Alex turning herself in, that was the part of the show that angered me the most. What is the use of killing off Rousseau and Alex's boy toy? It just doesn't make sense. I guess the use was to put Alex in the panic that would make her jump with the claim of being Ben's daughter, but in all honesty, I think that was the others, doing what Ben told them to do...which is kill her boy toy and Rousseua.

The only thing that throws a wrench in that thought is that the Freighter folk obviously know about the "temple" because it was on Faraday's map...so I guess maybe they could have a sniper team out there...and they were recently dropped off by the helicopter guy when he last took the helicopter off the boat (episode from 3/13/08). I mean, we didn't see the crazy military looking dudes on the boat last night, did we? If that's the case, its upsetting to me, because they just killed on of the better characters on the show, although she hasn't done shit for the show in a season or so.

One last thought. I guess I shouldn't be upset at Michael being back too much, without which I would not have been able to laugh so hard at him because of Mr. Friend saying such crazy mean things to him...but they are so true its funny. I mean "you told a 10 year old boy" and other lines about how fucken dumb Michael is did help me laugh through the episode.

Wow. I didn't hate it. It wasn't amazing, but it fleshed things out some. Michael's a loser, we all know this. But he's obviously got a role to play still.

The captain didn't look all that surprised, I wouldn't be shocked if next time we see them he says he knew. I was a bit annoyed with Sayid for being so rash, but Sayid will be Sayid!

I won't shed any tears over Carl or Rousseau dying. Carl was definitely disposable, he honestly lived longer than I expected. Rousseau's character had sort of become a dead end, she'd played her part, gotten her "redemption" by reuniting with her daughter. That's a clear sign they're ready to be killed off on this show! And as for her being one of your favorite characters, I just don't get it. I've always thought her character was a little too far-fetched and full of holes.

I guess I expected more WOW from this episode, but the episode was pretty bland. I didn't hate it, but I wasn't glued to the set like I usually am. The ending surprised me, but only because of its "suddenness." It was pretty unremarkable for a season "break"

So in the trailer for the next episode, the voice over says "So now that you know who the Oceanic Sex are..." while showing slides of each of the 6 characters. Aaron was one of those. At least that question is settled now.

5 more episodes! The next episode will air April 24th, so we don't have to wait too long. The 11th episode, based on casting calls, sounds like it could be very interesting: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Season_4/ ... isode_4x11

I have no idea why I liked Rousseau's character...i think its the relationship she and Sayid have. I enjoy Sayid's character just as much as her, so maybe that's why...they tended to feed off each other perfectly when they were on screen.

I pretty much got the impression that Alex's bf and that Roussou woman were killed off by Ben's people. Although he did go on and on about he how didn't kill innocent people, and Roussou was innocent...by any standards. Unless they just aren't dead at all, and are just injured in some way.

I thought Michael was pretty cool in this episode, which is odd because like most of the rest of you he tended to piss me off in earlier shows with his constant crying of "MY BOY" - plus he's a big traitor.

Still, since we know Sayid goes on to fight for Ben, and there is something inexplicably "good guy" about Ben, to some degree anyway, I think Sayid's outing of Ben was a bit pointless (although if you were Sayid you would probably have done the same.)

This episode didn't really excite me very much though, I guess I am just getting fed up with all the building they are doing - I want some real action dammit

Something important to notice--we have only have flash forwards from characteres who are confirmed off the island. Also, the upcoming character episodes represent more of the same characters. That raises the question: what is going to happen to the others? Are they going to die, go underground? I can't imagine a mass murder of our islanders, but talk about drama! If only six survive, they'll have to find some way to bring them all back. I wish the new episodes were airing tomorrow!

Well obviously all but 6 of the flight survivors stayed behind. The question is what happened to those who stayed behind. Apparently not something very nice since Jack is pretty adament about going back at some point in the future.

NEW THOUGHT ON SOMETHING OLD

I was watching episode 2 of HEROES season 2, where Claire is in BIO class inquiring about lizards & evolution and such. The teacher mentions a few things that we no longer need but still have, such as an appendix. He also mentioned that we no longer need pinkie toes to balance ourselves.

This reminded me of the 4-toed statue on the island. May not be indicative of anything, but maybe whoever built it came from a more evolved version of ourselves.

Since there is a break in Lost i have been rewatching it on abc.com in streaming HD. Highly Recommend doing so. While doing this i have seen so much more and have more questions!!!
[Show]
The psychic that takes claire's palm reading in episode 10 tells her that NO ONE else must raise her baby. The last time we saw claire's baby, Kate was raising it!
[Show]
This may have been answered in the show, but i dont recall it. Did they reveal what the gems that Jack and Kate got from the dead people were when they first found the cave?

Re you 2nd question, no, they've never gone back and addressed "Adam & Eve" or the black/white stones they had on them. But apparently, eventually that will be explained.

on usatoday.com, there is a small section about lost about halfway down the page. it has some user submitted theories, and you rate them based on how sound they appear. Then, after rating them, you get to see what Lindelof and Cuse think of the theories. It's pretty cool, overall. There are some interesting ideas out there.

OK, that was an AWESOME episode.
That is the kind of episode I've been waiting for on BSG.
[Show]
Killing of Bens daughter. HUGE! Bens control of the Smoke Monster. The slaughter of all the unimportant people at the village. Sawyer, et al, finally abandoning Locke and Ben. Explanation of Sayids recruitment. And is it just me, or does Ben have a teleportation device?
Great episode. The previews show some medical problem with Jack. We know he lives so not sure where theyre heading with that.

Totally agree, what a great episode!
I guess we now know how the bear and ben get to Tunisia...some sort of transporter.
The smoke monster was pretty bad ass. I enjoyed seeing Ben "lose it" and unleash the fury...and "change the rules" back. The whole rules thing has me flustered though. What rules? Did the island set the rules and Widmore, Ben, Dharma have to follow them in their attempts to inhabit the island?
Thanks for that USAToday post above! The one theory was really good and explained a bunch...the last one that is.

edit: also, do they have budget problems since they are killing off all the extras and "lesser" characters?
Can't wait for next week! I'm really happy they came out swinging with the first episode back after the break. That last episode I really did not like...but last night totally made up for it.

Jack episode tonight! The plot summary makes it look like a filler episode though.

edit: instead of replying I'll just add my notes here.
[Show]
OK...so was anyone else left with the feeling that the "teaser" for next week, which was 10 seconds long, was more exciting to the overall storyline than last night's entire episode? Jacob...dead for 12 years...can't wait to hear how that one worked out!

Points from last nights episode:
- Aaron is not supposed to be raised by Jack...that's for sure...but is it the entire Oceanic 6 that are not supposed to raise him? perhaps its everyone except those that are still on the island?
- Kate was doing things for Sawyer after getting back...but won't tell anyone because he wouldn't want her to. So stupid.
- Kate has a fine ass...and Jack grabbed it. I am jealous.
- The smoke monster was unable to kill the squad of troops...how is that possible? part of the "rules" ben eluded too last week?
- I'm starting to think that Claire doesn't fall out of the helocopter...instead, she jumps to stay on the island. We also learn that she has the same small fledgling ability to "hear" the dead like Miles.
- Anyone else starting to think that Jacob is like an omnipitant spirit part of the island...that can show himself as anyone he pleases, and to anyone he pleases? that would explain why different losties see different people...but never at the same time.
- Funniest part of lastnight: Claire leaves her baby at the base of a tree, perfectly placed to look like a cabbage patch doll! Not sure why I found that so funny...

I don't see the previews for next week when I download the episodes, so can't comment!
[Show]
I assume what Kate was doing for Sawyer had to do with his kid. I could be wrong.

We learned that there are those still on this island that CHOSE to stay there, that's pretty important imo.

The smoke monster not killing the soldiers... yeah, that was one of those eyeroll kind of moments. Same with Claire's house exploding and her being fine other than feeling a bit "woozy".

Rousseau is most definitely dead. Wow. Firefox didn't try and correct my spelling of Rousseau!

Decent episode overall. Not drop a deuce in your pants good like last weeks was, but still, answered some questions while posing more. Just what I like to get :)

The "Jack episode" was pretty boring. The fact the soldiers weren't all killed was annoying, but I suppose not a massive deal.

Where's all this "Ben has a teleportation device" thing coming from? I didn't see that in the episode where his daughter was killed? Did I miss something? His whole thing about being in Africa was set in a different period of time...

I think Claire died in that explosion and that she just didn't know she was dead until her father clues her in. That would explain why she leaves Aaron, why she seemed OK after such a big explosion, and why she's hanging out so smugly with a dead guy in a shitty cabin.

Hmm. I'd have to disagree. The level of contact she's had with people has been way beyond any of the other "ghosts" that have appeared. I'd be a bit disappointed if that's what they were doing, but it's not completely outside the realm of (im?)possibilty. I can see arguments for it, her leaving the baby being the biggest like you said, still... doesn't sit right with me. We'll see (maybe!).

What a great finale...by far the best of all the seasons so far. No big cliff hanger or anything, so I appreciate that. They just identified next season's plot line of "get everyone back to the island"...no, zomg a bullet is screaming towards someone's face and fade to black before it hits till next season bullshit type endings. I appreciate that.

Ben is still the best.

What a great finale...by far the best of all the seasons so far. No big cliff hanger or anything, so I appreciate that. I totally agree about Ben being awesome
Locke:“You just killed everyone on that boat!”
Ben: So.

I loved the look of panic when Locke was watching the Orchid video and realizing what Ben was doing.

I am still holding out on Jin being alive and Sun (or the other O6) just not knowing it. He was pretty far out on the deck of the boat when the explosion happened. I am keeping hope that he is alive and the shock wave just pushed him out into the sea. Since the zodiac was on its way back to the freighter, I think he still has a chance.

Yeah. Michael is toast, but Jin was out there on the periphery of the craft. If you noticed the extent of the explosion, it maintained itself in the center of the boat at first, and the secondary explosions came a few seconds afterwards. It was plenty of time for Jin to be blown out into the water and rescued by Doc Farriday.
I don't think Jin is out yet. I think the drama of Sun reuniting later with Jin after they've been separated for three years makes for amazing television, and that reunion will be something else. They will keep him alive if only for that reason, for a buildup similar to Desmond and Penny's reunion.

Oh wow, it's gonna be a long time before I get another fix! Anyway great finale!

Teared up twice: When the chopper was taking off and Sun was screaming--man she was great in that scene-- and when Desmond & Penny reunited. Loved the funny moments with John & Ben you guys already mentioned. And does anyone else love Miles? :) I hope we see a lot of him next season.

I'm still convinced Claire is really dead and that Kate's dream was just another infamous "ghost visitation" scene.

So what happended to the raft that Daniel was on? I missed whether it moved with island or not.

Well at least there seem to be a lot of shows airing in the Fall that have promise, something to keep our TVs warm on cold nights :)

Reading that list of scifi shows that the networks are pushing out, no wonder science fiction never takes off...those shows sound completely terrible in every way possible. I have a suspicious feeling that we are in for years of terrible programming and movies from JJ Abrams because he has one hit with Lost, much like what we get from Joss Whedon since he had a hit with buffy, but we get turds ever since.

Its a Lost thread, so I won't get into it to much, but yes, I'm the one person on this message board, apparently, who does not like Whedon's work (excluding buffy). I'm just not a fan of Whedon's work, simple as that...where shows like Lost and Battlestar show where truly great writing can take us, and the writing has nothing to do with money, so its not just a money thing. I was only pointing him out because he was in the article, and the show of his looks like a real flop. My point is, the article pretty much shows how Whedon, Abrams, and Moore are going to kill sci-fi drama shows back into laughdom because they are latching onto these networks that are willing to shill out money for unproven properties JUST to get some scifi on their network...good or bad...just to get it on their channel.

In short, it pisses me off that these guys are diluting something that could be great (as shown by Lost and Battlestar).

And yes, I'll take bets on if Dollhouse makes it past its 13 episode season 1...cause lets be honest, it won't make it. But when Whedon does do something well, I'm happy to say its great (like Buffy).
