Aslanna wrote:To be honest this season is boring the socks off me.

In the last episode Sylar was on, what looked like an island (but I guess it could have been the jungle), and this episode he's lying in the middle of the road where the wonder twins just happen to be driving by.

Molly character/story? /yawn

Newest ability? Oh I learn stuff from watching TV.

And the stupid "sound cues" are annoying.

I can only hope it will get better in the near future.
I disagree.

The sylar thing, sure. I don't know how he got there, but when people can fly and Sylar used to have all kinds of untold powers, who knows what he can do. Maybe he was on an island off the coast of Mexico...

I think it's somewhat interesting that Parkman's father is potentially the Nightmare Man. I like how they're building up a new villain, as well as letting us know about the older generations society of heroes, and that this guy is apparently a part of it and killing off all of his old peeps.

I think learning stuff from watching TV not only fits in as an evolutionary change that would be on par with Micah's (they're related to each other, and both has some power associated with technology), I think it's cool because at this point I thought that marvel and dc and whoever had exhausted pretty much all possible powers. Learning stuff from observation is pretty sweet, imo.

I'm liking it, and I feel like it's just starting to ramp up. I look forward to next week.

I enjoyed this episode.

Micah's cousin and her power looks like it will be a good addition to the show. I could do without the Katrina stuff and I hope that's the last we see of the fast food chicken place but if she takes off with Micah on a journey, it should be a fun ride.

I'm a little disappointed in Parkman still wanting Molly to find his father after she said he was the boogyman. After all of her nasty nightmares, he shouldn't have risked it. He also had a lead to finding his father as Suresh was going to take him to his "boss" (also in the picture) so he had a possible way of finding his father w/out Molly needing to confront the boogyman directly in her head.

I'm not sure what's going on with Sylar and the Hispanic brother and sister. I'm guessing Sylar doesn't know how to absorb powers correctly so can't do that until he gets Mohinder to do some forced tests or something.

Best part of the show was no ancient times Hiro scenes. I'm looking forward to Peter's storyline again next episode.

Claire's boyfriend thing and whole storyline seems forced up to this point

The show is moving entirely too slow for me, I am actually considering skipping 2 or 3 episodes in a row then downloading them and watching them all at once so I get some kind of sense of advancement when I watch it.

I do wonder how long it will take sylar to kill one or both of the mexicans.. He'll have to get his powers back first I guess. It's obvious he didn't have any considering he did nothing when they started to hurt him with their stigmata powers, and because he killed that other dude with a rock instead of the plethora of ways he could have done it without lifting a finger.

Fly boy and claire are really getting on my nerves, if something worthwhile doesn't come out of them soon I hope they just fly to mars and stay there so I don't have to watch their emo-love shit every episode.

Was I watching something else when Sylar figured out that the whole Island was an illusion? He walked out of the shed into a jungle in the episode I watched. I don't see where they confusion is coming from on that front.

I think it's just that the shed was in the middle of BFE in a jungle and somehow he manages to make it out of there and ends up face down on a road. They could have done something a tad better with that. It's like Clash of the Titans when Zeus just transplants the hero because he feels like it.

Not really confusion as I did say "(but I guess it could have been the jungle)" Regardless of where he was it's still pretty lame that he came to be lying in the middle of the road at that particular time they came along. Yeah yeah suspension of disbelief.. Whatever..

As stated earlier in this thread... They aren't Mexicans. They started from south or central america I don't remember which.

And while I would love to see Sylar whack them sometime soon I doubt it will happen as they already invested in their characters for 4 episodes. They wouldn't have characters around that long just to have Sylar kill them off.

Yeah. I noticed that while waiting for the credits to end in the beginning. 21 names listed this episode.

Sorry Sylvus, Marvel Did it.

Taskmaster possesses an ability which is a unique form of photographic memory that ties directly into his muscle memory, giving him an ability he refers to as "photographic reflexes." This ability enables him to watch another person's physical movements and duplicate them without practice as long as it is physically possible for an ordinary human to accomplish. This powers is only limited by its inability to mimic the superhuman powers of others, and by the fact that the Taskmaster does not have superhuman strength or other superhuman attributes. He is capable of emulating the styles of, among others, Daredevil, Wolverine, Captain America, Elektra, Spider-Man, the Punisher, and Deadpool. In addition, he is a very capable marksman, able to emulate Bullseye's perfect aim, as well as that of the Punisher and Hawkeye.

Taskmaster's power to duplicate the abilities of others is purely dependent on sight, and restricted to physical motions. For example, he could copy a virtuoso pianist's performance by watching him play, but would not gain the ability to read sheet music. As a child, he almost drowned when he perfectly duplicated another swimmer's dive, forgetting that he had not yet learned how to swim once he hit the water.

Well excuse me.. Central Americans. I know they won't probably be killed off but I was tired of their "story" after the first 5 minutes and I just can't see how they can ever make them interesting characters. Hopefully they will prove me wrong, somehow.

This is what I was assuming her power was. I hope to God it's not limited to fucking television observation as people seem to be suggesting. That sort of gimmick would piss me the fuck off.

That whole arc is stupid. She grieves about all the bad things that happened to her before, but at the same time is being really fucking stupid about lying to dad.. about another person with powers. Yeah, that's not fucking risky. They (the writers) seem to be trying to appeal to the teen audience or something with that story arc and are dumbing the shit down in the process.

The brother/sister duo need to go away as well, and not just because I feel like I'm watching telemundo.

Personally I think Sylar is more interesting as he is now than when he had all the powers. Makes him a little more raw.

So can Sylar do illusions now or not? He lost his original stolen power set, or just temporarily can't use them, but did he lose his inherent ability to figure out how to steal powers? Because he jacked that illusion girl in the head (so sad that Missy Peregrym won't be back) and I was assuming he was going to assimilate.

I'm giving it time. Season 1 started off slow as shit too. Episodes later in the season like "Company Man" made it all worthwhile though.

He was pretty frustrated after killing her because it would appear he no longer has the assimulation ability, for whatever reason. It was pretty stupid move to kill her anyway!

I love Sylar but I hope he went from crazy serial killer to a guy that kills people trying to hurt people with powers. He kinda hinted that he wanted to be good and wanted forgiveness. It would be neat if he fought on the good side for now.

What is really stupid is leaving that shack without any supplies. They had to have provisions there. It would have been funny if that when he killed her, her illusion of beauty died as well and left a huge 500lbs stinking pile of corpse.

Pretty decent episode I thought, but I am getting tired of the "OMG i have superpowars! my life is so unique, what does this all mean?!" story arcs. They were fine for season one, but I'm not interested in watching it over again. New heroes like Kristen Bell popping up are fine because it they already past the boring discovery mode.

Having said that. Parkmans dad isn't the assassin.

Yeah last night's was alright, but nothing crazy again. I am also not interested in seeing the "omg I have powers, what should I do?" shit anymore, and wish if they were going to do any more of it they would contain it to the origins episodes, but oh well.

The bit with Parkman's dad was pretty cool I thought.

Right. I see him as being the boogeyman that Molly was talking about, the nightmare man, but he is not the one killing off all the old players. Remember Hoodie Boy that killed Takei? There's no way that he was Parkman's dad: his dad is far too large to be the guy from the rooftop.
So we've got a number of villians popping up. Parkman's father, the mysterious assassin, the Company, and Kirsten Bell who is working for her father (unknown villian). It sucks that the Irishman got fried. I liked him, but I knew as soon as he said he would take care of it he was going to end up dead. Now the sister is free to go with Peter wherever he decides to go, which will be Montreal.

The street signs indicated the intersection of Blvd. St. Laurent and Rue St. Jacque which is about a block and a half from the Basilique Notre Dame in Montreal.

I don't know whether he's the assassin or not, but he did have the picture of the gold touch guy with the sign on it, why would he have it if he wasn't the assassin? The guy in the hoodie doesn't have to be him, he made Parkman and Nathan fight each other without realizing it, it's too far off that he got somebody else to do it for him. I'm not completely convinced he is the assassin, but there's still things pointing towards him being it.

hmm, i don't recall that at all. that's strange.

You're talking about the actor who played Ned Ryerson in Groundhog Day, right? Mohinder's "boss" right now?

So Veronica Mars has electricity powers and Peter has electricity powers. The question is how and when did Peter get those powers from Veronica Mars?

Also, it's starting to look like the same powers might be handed down through generations. (cop and his dad) That would make Claire a descendant of the white Samurai guy and Claire's new Fly boyfriend a possible descendant of Nathan, which would make Claire and Flyboy a incestuous relationship if they do the deed.

Parkman's dad could be the assassin. He might have the ability to do mind control and make other people do his dirty work.

I see it as she is like an electricity blaster from CoH and Peter is like an Energy blaster from CoH (with a ton more powers twisted in that he forgot about)

This crossed my mind, he made parkman and nathan fight each other and they thought they were fighting completely different people.. So it's definitely possible !

The main difference though, is that they were both in the same room. They just didn't know it. We haven't seen where he has been able to manipulate someone into going to a different city/building/area to do something yet. His comment about being able to do more than just read minds does lead one to believe he is capable though. Maybe Mind Control is what he meant by this.

Yeah pretty much the same for me. I'm not expecting leaps and bounds every episode, but I would like to see a lot more than we are getting..
