Im not home yet but the servers are still down from what I can tell on the forums. It looks like initially, the E4 launcher looks the same as the E3 launcher with the latest news being from 2006.

interesting first session on the new patch... they turned the game on its head, it seems... from never having a weight issue to barely being able to carry enough potions to last for an hour of fighting... and the texture level and 'enter to chat' options are fubared... eh.

Yeah, I can't play it until the texture res is fixed. The weight thing seems ridiculous but might not be too back with a level 10 belt. I think that will add 800-1000 more wt allowance which should be plenty for potions etc. Kind of lame for them to increase potions weights and make food so heavy. I've never thought weight restrictions in games made for them being and more challenging or fun.

So far, the conversion's been a little frustrating but I see some good mixed in. I may wait until tomorrow to go back and finish leveling up my character's job points and then re-apply the job points for my two pets.

Priority one is finding fix for the texture issue. Would like to play in 1920x1200 is there's a hack for that was well.

Fixed texture issue by deleting my config (.opt) file. A fresh config seemed to do the trick.

Blue Pixies do indeed rock in E4. The new skill systems give you one JP per level for your pet. I'm scared to assign my points as I don't want to screw this up. going to research b.pixie skills. Before, you had plenty of JPs to max everything out. Now the skills are better and you need to be a lot more careful. B Pixie has some killer active skills but I also need to load up on the passives (increase hps, mana regen etc)

In E3, my pixie had one spell: heal. Now i've got a bunch to consider. I haven't fully applied my JPs yet either although it's not as hard a decision for me. The Path is pretty clear. It's weather I want to spend points on leveling higher then JL 35 or stay at 35 and make sure I have enough JPs to increase my skill ranks.

Image

I like the new blue wispy glow of +5 weapons. I haven't seen +6, 7, 8 etc weapons to see how their glows have changed.

E4's looking better again...just a little delay for me due to researching all the new skills and the one-time massive JP reassignment.

I spent all night until around 3am reassigning job points for myself and pet. I havent even touched the Siren yet except to give it the card stat skill so I can place it on my belt. Turns out the Siren gives +10% to agility which translates to +2 to evastion...I can't complain about having a higher evasion!

With the release of E4, warriors may use hunter armor without needing the Hunter Armor skill (cost 20K JP in E3). I tracked down a Feathery Hood r10 +5 to replace my hard helmet. I look decidedly more rogue-ish now I think!

The Blue Pixie has lived up to its E4 hype. The very same level pet that had one useful skill and healed me for 292hp, can now heal me for 1,432 hps and also can DOT heal me with a skill that starts out with a 500hp heal and then more over time. It also has a resurrect skill that's only 60mp to cast with a 60 second refresh. The B.. Pixie at level 40 also has a self mana regen increase skill and a self casting haste spell. It also has a decent "Water Bomb" ranged skill attack along with a skill that siphons mana off a mob and gives it to the pixie.

All of that at level 40 and pets don't hit the "Evo3" stage until level 100. Pretty amazing pet and you can see a mad rush of peeps in the sales channel trying to get one.

Today I plan to actually attack a mob in E4!

While turning off trees makes it easier to see mobs, you do miss out on a lot of scenery. I have grass turned off in both images.

They go anywhere between 15-40 Million depending on level so 15 Million might get you a freshly tamed level one b. pixie.

The blue pixie area is good xp 28-36 and i've got 3 cards to drop, i sold 2 and i tamed my own pixie with the last one :D tons of spawns..

I use F1 for attack, F2 for picking up loot, F3 for force chip, F4 for pet attack... I use Tab to select mobs.

So its TAB, F1... when in melee range, F3, F1 (hitting attack right after the chip often starts your combat round sooner), F4

when dead, F2 three times, and as long as theres another mob in sight, repeat!

Someone figured out a decent temp fix for the texture bug:
It's textures, shadows, lighting, ... it's almost all of the graphic settings other than resolution and windowed mode.

The most convenient work around I can figure out is to

* backup your rappelz_v1.opt file
* open .opt file and delete everything between GRAPHIC_WINMODE and SOUND
* right click on the .opt file and set it to read-only

Now your resolution and all of your menu/window settings will be saved. But every time you play, you have to reset the graphic options how you want them.
This seems ok for me and at least keeps me from deleting the opt file every time. High settings are fine and my 1440x900 res is maintained.

Mostly good stuff but some is outdated with E4 release. There is no passive bonus anymore for pixies wearing summoner's armor so no need to use it. Can use warrior armor for more protection.

I've been trying to track down a nice 50-55 level mob area for XP grinding from 45-50 in the next few days but it seems there's a lack of mobs in the 50's (that are card droppers at least)

I've been to Rondo once. The images of the cherry blossums above with the baby tiger looking mobs is from there. It costs 2K to Teleport there. I may go farm Salamanders since they are 55 in a few levels. The one thing that stood out for me is that the tigers were faster than me, but I think you'd be able to make a quick getaway with the insta Lydian summoning now. I ditched some of those named angel things while XPing off of 51-55 Angel Mobs in the Fiary Woods. Comparing the XP and JP i was gaining to what Fash/Whitney was gaining on level 38-40 orcs, there's no real benefit to fighting red mobs even if you can kill them fairly easy...especially if white mob drop the loot more often.

If White mobs drop the most loot, I may stick around the Red Pixies for a few more levels.

I killed a level 60 mob just to see if I could do it at level 43. It was a Yeti of some sort near the Sirens. DramaQueen had my back!

A few things I've noticed:

-my Pixie now has endless mana it seems. I almost never use my main heal because I'm not down 1500hp to use it. The DOT heal that's 500hps + 2 x 120hps over time is a lot less mana and I keep my pixie always buffed with speed casting and quick mana regen. It's always 90% full of mana or more for the most part. That leaves me trying to find mobs as fast as possible to kill with the only variation being how fast I kill them, Using Assassin Impact and Dark Strike, I still have plenty of mana but don't really have another good damage skill yet to use mana on so it's just a matter of if Assassin Impact is up or down on how fast I plow through mobs.

-The only occasional worry is multiple mobs as my pixie is toast if I let loose with a heal. Any mob I haven't hit yet will B-Line right for the "DramaQueen". Using a force chip to draw agro is too low. If I have an attack skill that's not cooling down, I can usually grab the mob, otherwise it's -5% exp for the pet and res time. There's a de-agro skill my pet has, I even have it on a macro key, but haven't tried it yet! I've watched my pet slowly die due to lag as well. Unfortunately, your character doesn't keep swinging so even if the mob is about to go down, your pet is history if it's attacking. (well my wimpy b pixie pet is at least!)

From what I can tell now that I'm the same level as my Pixie off and on. The pet will keep up with you in level but gets zero exp at the same level so ends up being either the same level or one level behind at all times. As soon as the pet dings to the same level, it XP halts until you hit the next higher level.

All that said, B.Pixie > All other mobs, for soloing fighter classes. It's a free pass to non stop XP'ing.

From the looks of the mob level tables linked in Miir's post, I think I'll be hanging out in Rondo very soon while leveling in the high 40's and mid 50's. It's a full blown city so you could stay there awhile if you don't mind the lower Lak conversions (probably worth going back to HV as the Laks are getting close to filling up my 500 Chaos necklace after a single outing.

Got another red pixie card last night and sold it for 5.8M after seeing them offered for 6-7 M. Prices are definitely dropping on those.

Currently 44/40 and wanting 50/40 for the R3 equipment and class change!

Well I feel like a lot less of a noob after yesterday.

Previously, I was able to take on mobs around my level (or a bit low) without too much problem. I was doing semi-decent damage (225 per swing) and my pet was doing around 40-60 per hit. I could take on mobs a few levels higher but it was nto efficient at all.

After going through that pet guide and figuring out how to equip them with gear, I got my turtle suited up.
I got a R2 2 handed hammer and pumped it up to level 7 and I had some warrior armor in my warehouse (which I couldn't figure out how to upgrade). I stuck that on him to.

I also invested some JP into a pet +damage buff (+57 damage per hit).

After that I had a pet that was hitting for over 300.
Mobs that were giving me trouble the day before, I was killing with ease.
I could easily take down mobs that were 7-8 levels higher with no problems (but it wasn't very efficient).

I also got lucky and got a couple of enhancement cubes for my weapon and armor.
So put them on a big-ass 2 handed hammer and ditched my mace and shield. My average damage went up about 150 per swing.

Pet leveling is ridculously fast now.
To test it out, I bought a card and tamed a chicken.
I had it up to level 20 in less than an hour.

Pets will zoom up to your level and then stay there or one behind. There's no need to buy a high level pet and pay a lot.

Yeah, the weapon and armor you put on your pet (weapon especially) helps a lot.

If you can afford it, I recommend going right for the r2 lv10 + enhancement weapon/armor. You won't have to mess with it again until you and your pet hit level 50. r2 lv10 with ~+3-+5 enhancemets run 900K-1.5M. Not too bad considering you can deck yourself out if you manage to get just one b pixie or r.pixie card and sell it for 5-7M.

I have all armor/weapons on me (and my pet) at r10 with +3 to +5. While I did buy rupees, my experience from playing awhile in the game now is that you can get Rupees pretty easy in the game and, like Whitney/Fash did, farm B Pixies when you can as just one card will set you up for the 20-50 range. Fash even tamed his own B.Pixie! Nice.

For the first time last night in Rondo, my pet's mana dropped a little. Initially, the 53 Salamanders were red when I got there but I hit 45 and they dropped to Orange. I pumped 3 JP into my Pet's Active Mana Regen Skill, maxing it, so should be ok on high level pets which take slightly longer than 10 seconds to kill. I was using a DOT heal after/during every mob.

I highly recommend the South Side of Rondo for XP'ing when you get to 45+. The baby Lydians (the fluffy white tigers) are level 48 there and plentiful. They drop fast and the Salamanders range 51-53 and are all over the place as well. There's no ranged mobs around and seems to be low agro range as I didn't get any adds. Laks are good (Salamanders = Red Pixies = 40-60 Laks and the Lydians = 11-13 Laks) Rondo is a pretty area with a Castle Type town that sits in the middle of the zone with East West North South exits. It's a full blown town that also has a lot of quest dudes. There's nothing lower than 48 for mobs though. At 44/45, I'm a little low for the loot drops as the red/orange/yellow mobs don't drop as much but I'm going to stick it out at the XP is good and I seem to be flowing through the mobs without need for rest.

I fell asleep early last night and noticed I was disconnected from the server (was in shop mode) this morning. Was there maintenance last night?

Angel cards are dropping off level ~30 mobs. Someone got one off a Lafutel in North Laksey. Fash/Whitney, and anyone else in their 30's, you should quit killing Orcs and move next door to the Angel mobs. Get an Angel card and you've probably got yourself a quick 30M or more.

Someone finally posted a skill chart for B. Pixies:

http://rappelz-forum.gpotato.com/viewto ... 5&t=481223

Besides the great healing, this party buff looks like a nice one:

Lvl needed 50 : JP needed 1 : Pet Specialty, Party Buff | Blessing of the Fairies - Increases all party members' HP/MP regeneration rate.

I should be Level 50 along with my pet by Friday or Saturday. I'm about 1,500 Salamanders away!

Well, after reading all of Winnow's posts, I downloaded the game and played it for about an hour last night. (You really should be in advertising Winnow!)

I had some time today to look through the class/skill lists. I'm thinking I might want to go the route of Stealth Ranger. I like Asura. The dagger skills ala Skeeva look really cool, but in an effort to mix it up a bit, I think I'm going to go the bow route. Anyone know if this is a good route to take later on? Are bows viable compared to melee?

I'm still on newbie island and only level 7 atm... really didn't get long to play. My thoughts so far are that I don't like the click to move, but I played OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of Guild Wars and know it takes some getting used to. The graphics suck. I tried adjusting them, but all of the blocks to select stuff are grayed out for some reason... how do I make the graphics look better?? Mine look nowhere near what I see in Winnow's screenshots.

I like the speed of combat. I'm having fun killing stuff, and I like the whole JP, Job Level, Character Level thing. Skills look interesting and varied.

My characters name is Draden for now. I may switch classes depending on what is good/viable. Could use some pointers there as I really have no idea. Some of the casters I looked at didn't impress me much, but most of the melee/bow classes look pretty fun!

Will hopefully get a chance to play some tonight, but if not I'll give it some time tomorrow. Wondering if this can pull me away from LOTRO since this is free.

Better graphics are going to cost you Gpotatoes! The graphics are fuzzy for free, about 20/40 vision if you buy a Hidden Valley pass, and 20/20 if you Buy Pass w/tent.

Unfortunately there's a graphics bug in E4 if you use the custom graphics settings, which yo uprobably will if you have a widescree. The trick is to set your resolution (1440x900 most likely if you have a widescreen) and then do the following:
It's textures, shadows, lighting, ... it's almost all of the graphic settings other than resolution and windowed mode.

The most convenient work around I can figure out is to

* backup your rappelz_v1.opt file
* open .opt file and delete everything between GRAPHIC_WINMODE and SOUND
* right click on the .opt file and set it to read-only

Now your resolution and all of your menu/window settings will be saved. But every time you play, you have to reset the graphic options how you want them.
There should be a patch relatively soon to fix the graphics issues. It's a shame they could let something like this into a first release of E4 as anyone new trying it out that doesn't know there's a graphics bug is going to think it looks like crap. Also, many of my recent screenshots have trees turned off so they look much more barren than the landscape really is. Most places look like the Scottish Highlands to me with the trees turned off while I'm in XP mode!

Just send me a /tell in game and I'll add you to the guild for chat.

btw, to be fair, some of the texturing in Rappelz is pretty bad. A few look like they grabbed public domain grass and rock textures and stretched them. I'm familiar with that tactic from Second Life building/texturing!

I looked at the GPotato store, and saw the hidden valley pass for 30 or 90 days, but I don't see anywhere where it mentions improved graphics or anything else. Do you get a res file or something with it? Is it downloadable or is it server side where it unlocks your graphics options?

I'm up to level 17, off newbie island. Going crossbow route atm. So far I put out some nice damage, I also get a knockback shot that is pretty cool. I could see a group of people using that and a mob never being able to touch them!

I feel lost with OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of stuff... simple controls like sending a tell, talking in say (immediate area) vs. ooc or area chat etc. I got a +1 fire field card that dropped off a mob... I dont have any idea what it's for. Is there a way to see the stats on items without equipping them? I hover over something like the card in my inventory and it tells me nothing about it.

Also, some guy randomly invited me to group while I was doing a "kill certain number of mobs" quest. I clicked on him, but again, it didn't tell me what level or class he was... i just need more visual/graphical info on in game stuff!!!!

I'm kidding about the graphics. It's a bug that many are experiencing. If you follow the instructions I posted above, it should fix the bug until a patch is released. There's no difference in visual quality whether you pay or not.

From what I can tell, there is local area chat, shout, party, guild, and ad.

local is just whatever you type, without a prefix.
shout is prefixed with !
party is #
guild is %
and ad is $

there seems to be a limit to your Ad chat each day, or something like that, because often my attempted ad chat never airs.

In your inventory, yes, mousing over gives too little information.. but clicking the item and then mousing over a second time (you can stay within the item, just have to move the mouse a little to get the popup again) will give additional information. A lot of the cards are for increasing the ability of a skill.

You can create a party with /pcreate <partyname> and invite with /pinvite <name> Not sure how to see other players levels though... I've had issues creating/disbanding parties in a short time period, it kept saying i was in another party (when i was trying to invite someone else into my party..

So I'm convinced that those Angels near Laksy don't drop cards.
I spent the better part of 6 levels farming them.
I've even been killing the elite* (named) Angel in hopes that it would have a better chance of dropping a card.

I'm getting shit for loot and Laks are rare as hell... but when they drop Laks, they drop a lot (30 or more).
The named elite (Half Wing) dropped 250 Laks yesterday... I should have got a screenshot of it.... my entire screen was filled with purple, glowy shit.
I've got 99 problems and I'm not dealing with any of them - Lay-Z

Any clerics or holy warriors in the guild? (I'm still not 100% what the icons are yet) I have Beam Spear (cleric) and Offence Breaker (hw) cards I'm willing to give to a guildie. Won't charge you unless you have a surplus of rupees you are willing to part with :)

Oh and my char is Poppet (breeder).

The guild uses Poppet when we need to breed!

I have several skill cards what I can give to the right classes. I'll write them down next time I'm in the game. If you post what type of +3 stones you need, I'll save those as well. I've filled all of my soul stone slots. Went with +3 str, +3 vitality on all items. I think the level limit on them is 40 though.

I'll be XP'ing in Rondo killing Salamanders tonight to get to 50. So far, no Salamander card drops but they start to turn white next level so maybe my luck will change. Looking forward to getting some new R3 armor and weapons!

Edit:

Here's the site that has pictures of most of the armor/weapons/helms, etc.

http://www.morgheda.net/

It's no longer updated but the stat info is correct as far as I can tell.

Deep in enemy territory, a fearsome opponent is spotted.

Image

Although the monster looks intimidating and impossible to defeat...I will not be denied!

Image

Weeeee! I hit 50 and two Salamanders later, after killing ~2200-2400 of them over the past few days, making my way back to the city, a Salamander card drops. Woo! I was able to take a quick screenshot before the mob's name faded so we know it's a Crude Salamander that dropped it. (level 51)

Too tired to do much. I haven't selected my second class (Assassin) yet. I did buy some new R3 armor. It cost about 2.5 million total to upgrade to Rank 10 and then I used 5 r3 defense cubes on it. Still need a second r3 r10 +5 to go with the red butcher knife looking weapon of doom.

A little classier than my robin hood outfit!

Help a guildy out and buy some of my shit!

Recommended Equipment for each Pet :

Pantera
Armor: Warrior Armor, Panteras passive skills include bonus defense while warrior armor is equipped.

Weapon:
Option 1. Two handed sword or Axe, puts out maximum physical attack which is what the pets buffs and skills aim to achieve though it sacrifices some accuracy.
Option 2. Two-Handed Mace, slightly less p.atk. but also a signifigant improvement in accuracy compared with a two-handed axe or sword. It also has a slightly increased atk. speed.

3rd Slot:
Option 1: Vitality Ring, Gives your pantera some extra hp which is always useful.
Option 2: Gloves, Regains some of that accuracy you lose when equipping a two handed weapon.

Poultry
Armor: Hunters Armour, Poultries have passive skills which increase attack speed and evasion when Hunters armor is equipped.

Weapon: One handed Sword or Dagger, Poultries gain a skill which gives them a chance to stun on every attack. A one handed weapon makes quick accurate attacks therefore maximizing this skills potential success.

3rd Slot: Gloves, Gives extra accuracy.

Tortus
Armour: Warrior Armour, Tortus have a passive skill which increases defense when warrior armor is equipped.

Weapon: I would recommend using a Two handed-Mace (Mace has lower p.atk. but higher accuracy and atk. speed than an Axe) to help the Tortus keep aggro, especially at lower lvls.

3rd Slot: Shield, Tortus s are tankers with skills to greatly increase their threat level so they need all the defense they can get. They also eventually get a skill that increases their chance to block in third evo.

Yeti
Armor: Warrior Armour, Yetis gains a passive skill which increases defense while warrior armor is equipped.

Weapon One handed sword. Faster attack, Yetis are generally stronger than Tortus;s so its not as important for the yeti to have a two handed sword at low levels if you don;t want to. Although the extra p.atk at low levels is always a help.

3rd Slot: Shield, Yetis gain the shield smash skills similar to that of a Holy Warrior which helps them to keep aggro so they can tank.

4th Slot: Agility Ring, gives the Yeti an increase to its attack speed whilst adding a small amount to its max. hp.

Skeleton
Armor: Hunters Armour, Skeleton;s gain passive skills that increase evasion, movement speed and 14% base atk. speed increase, while wearing Hunters armor.

Weapon: One handed sword or dagger. Skeletons have skills that increase their attack speed and the extra attack speed you gain when using a one handed weapon works well with the skellies skills.

3rd Slot: Gloves, Gives extra Accuracy and small amount of p.def.

4th Slot: Boots, increases evasion and a small amount of p.def.

Orc
Armor: Warrior Armour, Orcs have passive skills which increase defense when warrior armor is equipped.

Weapon: Two handed Sword or Axe, Maximize Physical Attack, again works with an Orcs self buffs and skills.

3rd Slot: Gloves, Gives extra Accuracy and small amount of p.def.

4th Slot: Agility ring, increases attack speed and gives a small boost to the max hp.

Blue/Red Pixie
Armor: Magician or Summoners Armour, Pixies gain passive skills that increase max mp and magic accuracy when magician or Summoners armor is equipped.

Weapon: Two-handed Staff, Pixies skills are magic based including heals and attacks.

3rd Slot: Dexterity Ring, increase Casting Speed.

4th Slot: Need Input.

Siren
Armor: Magician or Summoners Armour, Sirens gain passive skills that increase max mp and magic accuracy when magician or Summoners armor is equipped.

Weapon: Two handed mace, Sirens attacks use a combination of Magic and Phys. attacks much like a kahuna does and mace is the only weapon that caters for both.

3rd Slot: Strength Ring, increase the the Sirens Phys. attack and give her a small boost to max hp.

4th Slot: Need input
-

So you managed to get a pet high enough to keep him equipped on your belt but still have issues deciding which is the pet for you? Here's a few recommendations:

Panteras and Skeletons: When either of these two pets are equipped on the belt of a player, they will get an improvement on their attack speed. Skellies have a bonus though: Along with the attack speed they also will raise the evasion statistics of the player. However, come Epic4 an over bred Pantera will also get this evasion bonus

For this Panteras and Skellies are recommended for physical damage dealers (i.e. Holy Warriors, Dagger and Sword Wielding Striders and Fighters and characters that fight at close range)

Yetis and Turtles: These pets are known for the unique high defense and that's exactly what they raised when equipped on a belt: Defense. They will boost this stat dramatically. Turtles are grand, but as of right now an equipped Yeti has better stats (better defense + agility), so they are highly recommended for magic casting classes (i.e. Kahunas, Clerics and Dark Mages especially)

Poultries: A red chicken will raise dramatically a players evasion and attack speed when equipped on a belt. If you're a Bow user or a X-bow and have a poultry equipped on your belt you'll notice a high pump on your attack speed which is always a plus. Or if you are a strider that relies more on high evasion (dagger strider) and want to pump this stat a little bit more, a poultry is the one you want on your belt. Evasion and Attack speed = Heaven!

Red/Blue Pixies and Sirens: Sirens are great pets to have equipped on your belt if you're a magic caster (i.e. A Cleric, Huna, Dark Mage or a sorc that relies on magic rather than on physical attack) as they will increase the casting speed.

A red pixie is ideal for both Casters and damage dealers. They raise the accuracy (great for xbow and bow users). And they balance the Magic attack of casters

Blue Pixies? Why would you want to have this on your belt?! thay heal you! keep it out!!!

Orcs: Orcs give Str, and P.Atk mainly. Evo 3 gives Accuracy. Evo 1 overbreed gives Vitality. Evo 2 overbreed gives all stat.

Good info Kwon!

Here's a pic of our guild logo that Fash/Whitney created:

Image

looks great considering you only have 20x20 pixels to work with.

DramaQueen hit level 50 so I evolved to Evo2. Not much different except maybe a cooler hat and extra glow ring that circles the sphere. They gain a group HP/Mana regen spell but it's not implemented into the game yet.

Pixies are more functional than visual! So tiny most of the time! I put my pixie to work for awhile fighting the named "Light Wing" angels in the fairy forest to try and score an Angel Card but I could only kill one and then Drama would be out of mana so it wasn't practical. They gave almost 7K experience and 1K JP and ~900K RP though. Might be good to kill them grouped as their level is still low so can't go back and kill them later and an Angel Card will go for ~40M atm. That would buy the guild 150 SS!

Re: Rappelz

Post by Kwonryu DragonFist »

Getting bonus from dungeons.

Here is a short guide to the Dungeon Siege system within Rappelz. This is purely a How-To guide and is not to be taken as an in-depth guide to completing the Raids or Sieges.

Please Note: This guide is valid as of 04/16/07

What You Need To Know:

Before undertaking the challenge of owning a Dungeon you should understand how the system works. The Dungeon Siege system is only open to guilds. It requires an active guild leader and can require a fair number of members of high levels to complete.

There are two parts to the Dungeon Siege system:

• The Raid Time Attack
• The Dungeon Siege

These will be described in depth later in the guide. Both portions MUST be completed before your guild can own the Dungeon.

By winning both of these parts your guild will claim ownership of the Dungeon and will gain all benefits associated with ownership.

The Raid:

The first part of the Dungeon Siege. This event is only available Monday ~ Thursday. At 12:01am PST on Friday the Raid Time Attack will be closed and the guild with the fastest time will be declared the winner of the Raid Time Attack.

To apply for The Raid guildmasters should seek out the Dungeon Stones outside of the entrance to the Dungeon they wish to compete for. Guild Masters must be of the appropriate level. To determine the appropriate level take the Dungeon Level (listed on the Dungeon Stone) and subtract 20. So if the Dungeon Level is 70 the guild master must be Lvl 50 to apply.

Once there click on the Dungeon Stone to open the Raid Time Attack window. Click on the Apply button to sign up for the Time Attack. Remember that the Raid must be completed between Monday and Thursday.

To start The Raid Time Attack the guild master must create the siege party. To do so the guild master should type: /screate TEAMNAME. They can then invite additional Party leaders using the /sinvite_gp GUILDMEMBER. Then each Party leader forms each party in the siege just like any other party. (/pinvite PLAYERNAME).

Once the Siege Team is formed the Guild Master enters the dungeon. This will create a private isntance of the dungeon for the Guild. The timer starts as soon as the Guild Master enters the dungeon. Once all members of the siege team are inside the dungeon it is purely a matter of killing the 2 bosses inside the dungeon. Players must kill both bosses for the Raid Time Attack to end.

The guild with the fastest time will move on to The Siege event. There will only be 1 winner per dungeon.

Remember these important points:

• Guild Masters MUST be present during the Raid Time Attack.
• Guild Masters need to be at least 20 levels lower than the Dungeon Level (If Dungeon Level = 70; Guild Masters level must be at least 50 or higher).
• Only members of the applied guild may participate in the Raid.
• Use /screate NAME to create a Siege Team.
• Use /sinvite_gp NAME to invite a member of your guild as a Siege Team Party Leader.
• Each party leader uses /pinvite to invite members to their party.
• The maximum number of players for the Raid is:
- 8 characters for Moonlight (1 party of 8 ).
- 16 characters for Lost Mines (2 parties of 8 ).
- 24 characters for Crystal valley (3 parties of 8 ).
• The timer starts as soon as the Guild Master enters the dungeon.
• The timer ends as soon as both bosses are killed.
• Bosses will drop items during the Raid Time Attack.
• If a character dies they can revive at the start point for the Raid.
• Users do not need to pay taxes during the Raid Time Attack.
• There can only be 1 winner.
• A guild may only sign up for 1 Dungeon per week.
• A guild may apply for a Raid Time Attack 1 time a day.
• Members of a Siege Team may talk to the entire team by putting ' (apostrophe) in front of their messages.
• Players will NOT lose lak, experience, drop items, or gain immorality points during the Dungeon Siege.

The Siege:

This is the second part of the Dungeon Siege system. Please be advised this part is purely Player vs Player!

The objective of this event is simple: control the Dungeon Stone. Under normal circumstances where a Dungeon is owned by a guild there will be 2 teams. One team will be defending (the owners of the dungeon) while the other team is attacking (the team that won the Raid Time Attack).

Please note that the owners of the dungeon do NOT need to complete the Raid Time Attack each week.

The commands for the Dungeon Siege are very similar. Once the event is announced in yellow text players from each guild should head to the dungeon. Teams for the Dungeon Siege can be created immediately after the Raid Time Attack is won or before entering the dungeon. If the teams are already created the Guild Master does not need to be present during the Siege.

If the teams are not already created Guild Masters need to use the /screate NAME command to create the name of their team. They can then invite members of their guild to be party leaders by using the /sinvite_gp NAME command. Guild Masters can also invite members of other guilds by using the /sinvite_hp NAME command.

Please note that only the teams involved (the attacking guild and defending guild) can take control of a dungeon.

Once the team is created and all parties have a party leader the party leaders use the /pinvite NAME command to invite players to their party.

Once the final announcement that the Dungeon Siege is starting is made both parties may enter the dungeon. Once inside they will notice that the dungeon is completely devoid of monsters other than the guardians of each control point.

As mentioned earlier the objective is to control the Dungeon Core. To do so they must reach the core, kill the guardians, and left click on the Core. There will be a cast time where the player who clicked on the core can be attacked and killed so protect your teamates well.

There are also strategic control points in between each Core. these points, if captured, allow players to respawn at a control point instead of at the entrance to the Dungeon. To take control of a control point users must kill the guardians around the control point and then left click on the control point. Again users will be vulnerable during the cast time to take over the control point. Once taken over guardians for that team will be spawned to protect the control point.

How to Win:

If you are the defending team (the guild that owns the Dungeon before the Dungeon Siege) you must destroy the attacking teams Dungeon Stone. Once destroyed the Siege will be lifted and the defending team will win regardless of how much time is left.

If you are the attacking team you must hold the Dungeon Core. Once you gain control of the Dungeon Core both teams will reset and their roles will be shifted. It will now be the attacking team's turn to protect the Dungeon Core. All players will be reset to the appropriate entrance and the Dungeon Stone for the attacking team will be reset. Whoever owns the Core at the end will be the winners.

Remember these important points:

• The Siege team can be created as soon as the Raid Time Attack is won.
• If the team was created prior to the Siege announcement the guild leader does not need to participate.
• Guild Masters may invite players from other guilds as Party Leaders or members of the siege parties.
• Use /screate NAME to create a Siege Team.
• Use /sinvite_gp NAME to invite a member of your guild as a Siege Team Party Leader.
• Use /sinvite_hp NAME to invite a member of another guild or a guildless player as a Siege Team Party Leader.
• Each party leader uses /pinvite to invite members to their party.
• The maximum number of players for the Siege is:
- 16 characters for Moonlight (2 parties of 8 ).
- 32 characters for Lost Mines (4 parties of 8 ).
- 48 characters for Crystal valley (6 parties of 8 ).
• If a character dies they can revive at the start point for the Siege or at one of the control points.
• Teams can take over control points by killing the guardians at each control point and then left clicking on the control point.
• There can only be 1 winner.
• The Attacking Team must gain and keep control of the Dungeon Core.
• Once control of the Dungeon Core is shifted the teams swap sides and all players are reset to their appopriate starting points (the attacking teams Dungeon Stone is also reset to full power).
• If the Defending Team destroys the Dungeon Stone at any time the Siege is lifted and the Attacking Team loses.
• Members of a Siege Team may talk to the entire team by putting ' (apostrophe) in front of their messages.
• Players will NOT lose lak, experience, drop items, or gain immorality points during the Dungeon Siege.

The Schedule:

Ruins of Arid Moonlight 1: 1pm ~ 3pm Saturday
Ruins of Arid Moonlight 2: 1pm ~ 3pm Sunday
Lost Mines 1: 2pm ~ 4pm Saturday
Lost Mines 2: 2pm ~ 4pm Sunday
Crystal Valley 1: 3pm ~ 5pm Saturday
Crystal Valley 2: 3pm ~ 5pm Sunday

The Rewards:

Controlling a dungeon entitles you to certain rewards. You will be able to set the tax rate of the dungeon (maximum of 10% and minimum of 1%). This will reward you with 10% of all lak and rupee drops within the dungeon.

All rewards can be gathered from the Dungeon Master. They can only be claimed by the Guild Master. The Guild Master may only claim as much as he/she can hold at any given time.

Additional Rules:

• Please remember that guilds may only control 1 dungeon at any given time.
• Guilds may not participate in The Raid Time Attack if they control a dungeon.
• Guilds that do not control a dungeon may only apply for 1 Dungeon per week.
• All events are run automatically. There is no GM intervention. We will not get involved unless there is a bug in the system that requires our attention.

For any bugs with the Dungeon Siege system please e-mail RappelzTechSupport@gala-net.com

Whew, busy day in Rappelz for me.

I decided to make a Breeder alt character to take advantage of some of the pets I've acquired from other players.

I decided to namer her...Winnow!

Here's Winnow right after arriving from newbie island:

Image

Can't go wrong with a name like Troublemaker for a pet! I saw the Evo2 Level 52 Orc being offered for a great price so picked him up. So far, he's kicked some serious ass.

Image

After reaching level 20 so I could wear R2 armor and use R2 weapons, I quickly slutified myself. Not really, there are only two choices for armor. Breeders get some great armor in R3 and R4 so I'm OK with the kinda dull R2 armor for now!

I managed to +5 the Giant Mace on my second try. The first attempt at +5 failed so I lost the Mace and had to buy a new Mace and redo all the enchantments.

Image

Here's Midnyte. He was in store mode so I bought the last item in his store so he'd become visible. I snapped this pic while he was afk. Lucky for Mid, I don't know the commands to have my Orc take advantage of him while he's afk! hehe

Image

I can't even lift the freaking Mace. It's huge...A little help Mr Troublemaker?

Image

This chicken is about to lose its ass as soon as I swing this thing around! It's mocking me!

Image

Skeeva is still my main for sure. She rips through mobs like mad. Managed to +5 a second R3 Dirk so I'm glowing again.

Image

You may have noticed the Cat Ears. I didn't do it for the cuteness factor entirely (there is a small attack bonus) but here's what the R3 Bloody Horn Helm looks like:

Image

Thankfully, wearing the Cat Ears hides the helm.

Image

Odd angle shot (practicing!) but shows the detail of the armor. Games have come a long way since EQ1!

On that note, check out some of the R4 outfits for a few of the classes:

Image

This is the Kahuna R4 armor. I like it. Looks a lot different than most of the rest.

Image

I didnt get a great shot of this, but even the R3 armor looks pretty good for Kahunas.

Image

This is the Strider R4 armor. funky shoulder thingies but most of the armor outfits have big shoulders.

Image

And this is R4 armor for breeders. Winnow's future outfit! (and Poppet's as well!) I'm going to put speakers in those shoulders so I can listen to tunes while I kill.

Image Image

Finally, the Salamander Pet. Cool pet! I'm going to hang onto the next Salamander card that drops and try to have an expert Breeder tame one for me.

lol the breeder panties dont quite fit. Her cooch looks like it's about to flop out.

I do like the lacey thigh highs though! Would look cute with the cat ears. If I keep interest in the game (so far so good) I'll get me a pair.

Some may be getting frustrated due to not getting creature card drops. While Fash and myself have gotten quite a few, I don't think anyone else has had one. I anticipate a few leaving soon.

As for myself, I enjoy the grind/leveling along with playing around in the server's market, buying and selling. I also used to enjoy North Freeport trading as well so if you didn't like that, Rappelz may be less appealing as when you are able to generate Rupees, the game becomes more enjoyable. Rupees, if nothing else, translate into Stamina Saver potions which increase your XP and JP rates, which in turn helps everything else out.

I also get in touch with my feminine side in these games as I like to play dress up with my characters. While some would put a potted plant on their head if it gave them more AC, I try to maximize effectiveness without sacrificing aesthetics! If all I cared about were stats, I'd play a text game or one that just had square cubes representing everything in the game.

Here's some useful info:

Mid was having issues with Laks. You need some luck rings!

Edit:

Hmmmm, stats have changed some with E4's release:

It doesn't mention a Laks/Luck relationship anymore although it may still be there.

Can anyone tell me what the pet skill Decoy does? The description tells me nothing.

If i remember correctly! :D

Your pet runs up to the target , does a lil range attack (not that uber dmg) to aggro it and runs back to you, bringing the beast back.
