I think there was one episode, when OP got infected with a virus that made him mad, and the antidote had to be shot at him. He split up into 3 components (robot, command base, and Roller) so they had to shoot all 3 or else he could reinfect himself. There might have been one other occurence of Roller used to spy, but that's about it.Corona wrote:did he ever bust out the buggy and guns that came with the toy version?

Ultra Magnus was always my favorite. The "true" heir of the matrix after Optimus Prime died. Stupid ass hot rod...never shoulda been a prime.
2nd most favorite was Omega Supreme. LOL Whenever I saw that rocket & train transform into the almighty Omega Supreme...i would think "time for some heavy duty action"
btw: anyone remember when they brought Optimus Prime back to life after the new robots landed on their mausoleum ship in space filled with the old autobots that died in the transformer movie?

Yeah, but it was too little too late. They had polluted the line with the Junkions and about 30 other really lame types of robots, most of which didn't have ANY metal parts. I was cool with the little ones like Brawn and Bumblebee being all-plastic, but charge me $15 bucks for a fucking all-plastic ghey-looking motorcycle? Fuck that!Samoseus wrote:btw: anyone remember when they brought Optimus Prime back to life after the new robots landed on their mausoleum ship in space filled with the old autobots that died in the transformer movie?

I should rephrase that slightly and say all the parts that matter. I have his gun in a box somewhere. And I am missing the little plastic hose that went into Roller (thanks for the name reminder, Kyo). I may have that too, but have been unable to locate it since we moved last year.Psyloche wrote:I can't believe you have all the parts to Optimus Prime. While I worshipped that toy I definately lost one of his fists pretty fucking fast. In fact I don't know any of my friends who liked the Transformers and had OP that managed to keep track of both fists... everyone had either the right or the left.
He's in excellent condition, but he is unboxed. I usually cannot stand boxed toys, and I've kept him more for sentimental/nostalgia reasons than for collector's value.
Oh, I also have the original Jetfire, but he was my favorite Transformer after Optimus, and got a lot of attention since I was also into Robotech (which he was ripped off from). I still have his gun and armor attachments, but he's pretty worn, and I think one of his landing gear springs is broken. However, I consider it a testament to the craftsmanship of the early Transformers that he's withstood the test of time so well. A modern day plastic Crapformer wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes of my childhood playtime.

people that keep toys in boxes and "collect" them need to be fucking shot. toys are made for ripping them out of the box and playing with them. when I see people talking about their mint condition transformers or star wars figures all I can think about is what a collosal waste their lives have been.

My optimus prime cant stand up straight, he falls on his ass backwards from major usage. Megatron the fucker is missing one arm. The rest are in pretty sweet condition though. I think it was the fact that I bashed Megatron and Optimus together sooooo many times that broke em down. My only Go Bot never made it, he was gang raped by my insecticons and then promptly placed on the road for execution.
I owned the combaticons and I used to make them into Bruticus. My brother and I were having an argument about that today, what they were called. He said they formed to make Destructor. I couldn't think of Bruticus' name.
Sweetness. He was my favorite of the Voltron-type transformers that merged into a gigantic thing. I think I remember the dinobots kicking Bruti's ass in one episode.

Except for the Avril Lavigne part, I completely agree with you. I once tried the "buy two, play with one" idea on one of those special edition send away Transformers - you know, where you collected the Autobot or Decepticon points, and sent them in with an assload of shipping money. I got two of the Ferrari guys, and decided to leave one in its packaging. That lasted all of about a week before I couldn't stand it anymore, and opened up the second Ferrari.kyoukan type-R wrote:people that keep toys in boxes and "collect" them need to be fucking shot. toys are made for ripping them out of the box and playing with them. when I see people talking about their mint condition transformers or star wars figures all I can think about is what a collosal waste their lives have been.

Ok ok....why has NO ONE mentioned being too anxious to read the transform instructions due to the UNSPOKEN RULE that you just rip them out of the box and figure out on your own how to transform them...only to break it?????? COME ON, I CANNOT BE the only one this happened to on Christmas day, a broken transformer.
And Devestator and all of those other merge-able transformers, remember how fragile they were when pieced together? Arms would fall off when moved etc, so you could not really play with them too tough, you just merged them then looked at them and was like *wow*.

I never broke any of my Transformers during the "Figure Out How It Transforms" phase. Miraculously, I never lost any pieces during that process either. But I broke several parts during play. Of particular note was Starscream (or one of his copycat counterparts) that was extremely un-aerodynamic. In fact, he generally "flew" farther as a robot than a plane.
Also, Soundwave's cassette door would occasionally jam up on me. I don't know that it was from playing with it, or if it was just a design flaw that affected all Soundwave toys.
The later model of the mergeable Transformers were a bit better in design. I had the Aerialbots, and the combined form robot was pretty kickass.

The other evil gun, the one that would light up when you pulled the trigger was better. But still not as cool as Optimus.
