Yeah, that logic makes sense. While we're on that, all of the X-men definitely do not qualify because their fucking mutations do all of the work. Jules isn't jack shit without his wallet, demeanor, bible recitations, and his gun. Those do all the work. Tony Montana's m16/grenade launcher shit did all the work, he's not a badass. I could go on.
In short, Elric definitely qualifies as badass.

Just for the hell of it, I nominate the Exhile from KOTOR II. He is a wound in the force, and around at a time when knowledge of the force was stronger than it is during the movies. He > all other Star Wars characters for that reason.
(Yes I know it's not canon, but since we aren't caring about which universes...)
