My summer movie list

Post by murr »

Been working on a list of movies I've always either wanted to/been told I need to see, posting to either inspire others, or if there's one on there that's extraordinarily bad and you feel is horribly overrated, let me know before I waste money renting it. Thanks.

life is beautiful
don't be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood
leon
blade runner
abre los ojos (Spanish film that inspired Vanilla Sky)
full metal jacket
the boondock saints
lock, stock, and two smoking barrels
lawrence of arabia
a clockwork orange

other suggestions from friends I'm not sure the quality of: Undercover Brother, Pootie Tang
Murr - Fires of Heaven - Black Dragonflight

If you haven't seen it, add 'Dazed and Confused' to your summer list. The movie is simply spectacular, especially as a summer kickoff movie. It features early performances from Matthew McConaughey and a fatassed Ben Affleck. This movie is teh win!
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Abre Los Ojos is a lot better than Vanilla Sky.

Don't be a Menace... - Fucking hilarious. This is a Scary Movie version of old ghetto movies.

Full Metal Jacket - This is an absofuckinlute must see. The boot camp alone is worth watching this movie.

The Boondock Saints - This is top on my list, but I have yet to hear one bad thing about it so I would say its a winner.

Lock, Stock... - If you like Snatch, you like this.

A Clockwork Orange - Bizarre. No other words can describe this.

Clockwork really was a piece of garbage. It's annoying to watch and annoying to listen to.

FMJ should really be seen for the boot camp portion.

The original Jaws is one of the best movies ever made. It has a nice summer feel to it as well.

Bladerunner kinda bored me as well. The concept and the sets were more interesting then what was going on to me.

You really can't go wrong w/ Hitchcock movies. They are just incredible works of suspense
