Just picked up an X-box and Halo. Halo's pretty cool so far, though I'm still getting used to the interface. I'm curious what you guys think are the essential games to have for the X-box? Specifically fighting games and action games. Interested in titles, and why/brief descriptions.
Thanks.

Matrix Reloaded is fun... the first time you beat it, then it gets old quick.
The focus moves are really cool, but you basically do the same move everytime you "focus".
edit: Oh yeah, the game also comes with a "hacking" side of the game where you can hack your way through the matrix and put in cheat codes, I think I read that you can upload fighting styles into the characters, and make weapons appear in specific spots throughout the game.

Current Character Hanelce.
I beat Enter the matrix. WIth Niobe and Ghost
(Wich by the way is the name of the game. Reloaded being the name of the second film)
It's a good game. There is about 10 hour game play tops on there.(That includes playing both characters, and finishing the hacking + doing the hidden seeekret lvl of Sparks construct trainning of 4 levels on Easy mode)
Once you finish the hacking section you get access to the multiplayer side of the game if you have 2 gamepads. This means you now have access to like 8 constructs to play versus a friend 1 on 1 with no focus
.
The cool part about the multiplayer levels are that you get placed in different areas of the movie and the game, like the dojo where you fight with trinity and Niobe, the subway, Smith vs Morpheus etc... etc...
It's a good game.
Now not owning a Xbox (i have a PS2), i just know that Splinter Cell, wich came out first on Xbox is one of the best title they have.. But nowadays you can get it on all the consoles. It was made in Montreal too
There is Amped who was a big seller too if i remember correctly, very cool snowboard game i heard.
Thats about all i know about Xbox titles tho.

If you have patience for it, try out Shenmue II. It starts out real slow but if you have the patience, it picks up hardcore about three or so hours into it. Unreal Championship is okay, but if you have a pc you're better off getting UT2k3 for PC. It's basically the same thing. Burnout II is fun. Splinter Cell is a must have. Max Payne, if you don't already have it for PC. However, I picked it up anyways for X-Box since it's now down to 20bucks and it's much more fun on the console. I find it a lot easier to control. Plus my roommate has a killer soundsystem with a flat screen 32 inch, and it just looks/sounds tight.
Oh, and your poet Eliot had it all wrong:
