Fletching is simple anyway- just start by combining the cheapest of each component, when that goes trivial go to the next higher priced nock, and so on. When higher nocks no longer improve skill or are more expensive than increasing the fletching then increase the fletching, and drop back to the cheap nocks, and so on. Basicly increase nocks, fletching, shafts and lastly heads in that order every time a combo goes trivial till you find the next combo that gives improves. There's a little trial and error obviously, but fletching is cheap enough that its no biggie.

arrows are made of 4 components: tip, shaft, fletch, nock
the fletching skill check only checks the "hardest" of the 4 particular pieces you are trying to combine for a success/skill up.
there is not any kind of combined formula for determining arrow difficulty.
for instance lets say i have: hooked tip, wooden shaft, round cut fletch, large nock.
the hooked tip is the "highest" difficulty piece (triv 102), so it is the only thing that matters in your skill check.
varia is exactly right to the fastest way to go.
wood shafts, field points, round fletch
with large nocks to skill 16
medium nocks to 36
small nocks to 56
field points, round fletch, large nocks
with bone shafts to 68
ceramic shafts to 135
steel shafts to 202
holding down CTRL while you click from a stack of components gets you one individual piece.
this is the most important thing to know about fletching
the higher the DEX the better success rate you have.
the higher the WIS (or INT i think) the better your chance for gaining a skill point.
