not when you work for the government, no you don't try to hook people up.
wait that is the main purpose fo the government, hooking up the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the people involved, nevermind.
but on a more realistic slant, my main problem with the process was that the bidding info is all classified. i have a big problem with that. Additionally, no UK firms got to bid on any portions of these contracts, and the amount of political capital Blair has risked should get them a piece of the pie. I'm sure they will have a seat at the table when all is said and done, though.
if the bidding process was transparent, then there would be no reason for people to suspect any inproprieties were taking place.
edit: NYC comptroller seeks probe on Haliburton and GE due to dealings with Iran and Syria, companies that have state-supported terrorisim. Haliburton does so through a Cayman Islands subsidiary, which circumvents the legislation.
