Batman - just for fun

I saw the original Batman movie (with Michael Keaton) on TV last night and it got me to thinking, am I the only one that thinks the suck level of each sequel in that series increases exponentially? Jack Nicholson as the Joker is still the best villain

I agree. Batman has turned into a complete and utter pussy now in the movies.
Nicholson was by far the best villian, however some others played the parts of the villians very well (Jim Carrey as the Riddler and Danny DeVito as Penguin)

Yep. the first batman was pretty cool. Even though Devito, Carey, etc. played good villains, every sequel just got worse and worse..

They got more and more campy.
Changing the Batman and Robin costumes to have nippular regions was stupid.
Arnold as Freeze just wasn't right.
And Batgirl?!

I liked the second one about as much as the first, but I suspect that has a lot to do with Michelle Pfeiffer in skin tight leather, with a whip.

basically, they were cool when they were all dark and gothem was scary. wtf did they decide to get all colorful and retarded with the 3rd and 4th movies..made everything look like a circus show

The first one was genious. The second one I liked a lot too, but no where near as much as the first. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Nicholson win some awards for being the Joker?

Batman Return was the best. Keaton as Batman, Walkern as Shreck, Pfeiffer and Devito as the bad guys and Burton directing. Pwn.

Basically as soon as Schumacher took over and decided to veer away from the "Dark Knight" style (that was responsible for the resurgence of interest in the first place, dammit) and back towards the camp 60s TV version the franchise was fucked. The one with Carey as the Riddler was bloody awful and I haven't wasted any of my precious remaining hours on this earth watching the rest.
