Cestus Dei (Veeshan) 1999-2011

For various reasons, mainly due to declining server populations, the days of the original Cestus Dei came to an end on Veeshan (Veeshan forever!) 25-Aug-2011. There was a merger with another guild (Ethereal Kindred) and the new guild formed from this was Cestus Dei Aetherius.

Just letting previous CD members know if they happen to stop by here! I've only been there since 2005 but I guess ~12 years was a pretty good run as far as guilds go. The new guild has a strong core of dedicated raiders so hopefully it will carry on for another 12 years.

SoE is ovvering free time with the network hacking clusterfuck. I briefly toyed with the idea of playing the free time then I punched myself in the nuts, hard.

Looking at my account though, it seemed for some wierd reason that I had access to all the expansions. Not sure if SoE is giving those away now or not.

I briefly came back to EQ about 4 years ago. I am unsure why anyone would continue to play that game. We tried to do some quests to get some level appropriate quest armor and the mobs we had to kill to get the quest drops killed our tank in 1 hit even tho they conned blue. I asked a friend and he said we'd need a raid of max level, raid equipped players to kill them. I just logged off and cancelled my account again.

yeah, I tried to go back a few times, but I just couldn't get into things for long. I would mainly spend time chatting with the few remaining CD that I remembered. I still play other games with people from EQ, and it is fun to think back on some of the crazy shit we pulled off in the early raids.

Not sure what expansion that was but that sounds incorrect. There is group tier armor and raid tier armor. Group tier armor does not require a full raid of max level players.. Or any raid for that matter. At least now. I have no idea what it was 4 years ago.

Oh and technically the guild names weren't merged or that would be Cestus Dei Ethereal Kindred. Which it isn't!

I came back during that free game time fiasco earlier this year. I spoke to Aallaan a bit. It was awesome standing there clicking my heal stick at people with diseases. Namely some slut in a gutter named Kyukan.

Just a brief update... Cestus Dei is back. After a year or so as the merged guild things sort of blew up so it was decided by the remaining members to abandon the CDA name and go back to CD. A bit short on numbers though at the moment as a bunch of people jumped ship but oh well!

I don't recognize any of the names in CD anymore Feel so alone.

On the upside, killed vox a few days ago with my 52 warrior and 3 others! 2 tobrin's and RBB dropped. We never got that drop back in the day.

I logged on maybe a year ago now only to find out that Cestus Dei has closed up shop. Sad. But it was limping along for the most part with the co-raiding they had been doing for years with.. Uh.. KoF? It's been awhile so I forgot exactly.
