short version of my comments: WAH
long version:
just stunning.. all this time i thought they had abandoned CoH and its devoted playerbase to work on DoW2.. but it turns out they are working on a sequel for the game despite the original being in miserable ruin due to shoddy balancing followed by almost a year of absolutely no significant patching whatsoever. By the time this comes out there will be no one left that can still tolerate CoH
tears aside, i'm stoked. DoW2 and a new CoH. doesn't get much better

It's good to see that they're developing it themselves instead of farming it out to a 3rd party.

Not for long!miir wrote:City of Heroes is a fun game!
In a realignment of company focus and publishing support, NCsoft has made the decision to close Paragon Studios. Effective immediately, all development on City of Heroes will cease and we will begin preparations to sunset the world's first, and best, Super Hero MMORPG before the end of the year. As part of this, all recurring subscription billing and Paragon Market purchasing will be discontinued effective immediately. We will have more information regarding a detailed timeline for the cessation of services and what you can expect in game in the coming weeks.

Re: CoH: Tales of Valor expansion announced
I sometimes wonder what COH could have been had Cryptic handed it off to NCSoft right after release. While class balance was horrid, it was easy to spot even without a PhD in theorycraft, and once you did the game turned from a slog into a violent frenzy.
I'm still amazed to this day how out of touch with the playerbase Emmert was. No endgame! Remove the unbalanced game mechanics that make our repetitive cookiecutter missions tolerable instead! Subs drop? MOAR NERFS!

this is a thread about company of heroes, the well received world war 2 squad based RTS.
jack emmert literally wore a super hero cape to work when he worked at cryptic.
literally.

I blame miir. The CoH forum was locked so I searched and posted on the first one I found!
