Cisco Live in San Diego!

Post by Leonaerd »

Work chose me to go this year, and I'm freakin pumped! I've never been to California. What's worth seeing and doing? What's a good hotel / best airline / restaurant / bar (etc). Anyone else going?! :o

When do you go? In august, there's Comicon which is a huge deal. Otherwise, San Diego in general is a great place to visit.

No need for a return plane ticket. After visiting San Diego you'll realize how much cooler the West Coast is, quit your job, and become a surf bum.

Gaslamp is the big draw, pretty nice downtown area with lots of homeless people begging for money, but good restaurants and foods. I like the Hard Rock Hotel, it is in the Gaslamp, nice rooms and decent parties on the weekends in the hallways even on one of my weekends there.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

I'll be arriving Saturday the 9th of June and leaving the next Friday, with a week of learning technical BGP / EIGRP / DMVPN / UCS / and Nexus 7k stuff from the best minds in the business in between. And also parties. And swag. All paid for! This is easily the coolest experience of my life thus far. :D I can't freaking wait!!

That's pretty awesome. Have a good time! :) Hoping to go to Microsoft PASS conference this year in Seattle. Probably not as cool, since DBAs are usually a rather dull crowd (except for my team, of course).

I don't know how DBA's do it. I would go query crazy in a week. Our DBA team is awesome though. They all own a lot of guns. We all do, really.
