The Muppets

Post by Fairweather Pure »

The Muppets was pretty goddamn good. It has 98% from 121 critics! It was a huge dose of nostalgia for me personally. I was very happy that the Muppets were not "modernized" for this movie. It is very much a traditional Muppet movie in every way. There were lots of songs and the core Muppet values were front and center. My kids really enjoyed it, but I was surprised at how much I laughed out loud from beginning to end. It dipped a tad here and there, but overall it was a fantastic ride. I really enjoyed the music numbers. My favorite was one where Kermit sings about the past while looking at paintings of old friends that was pretty early in the film called "pictures in my head". It was very touching.

9/10 film.

When I got home, I played more Zelda. What a weird, nostalgia filled day!

Something with an empty head that flaps it's mouth exuberantly, you know, Sarah Palin.

Good question!

Now that you make me really think about it... no? I think they used practical effects throughout the entire movie. I'm trying to think about if I even saw full body Muppet shots and I cannot recall any, so if they did use any sort of CGI it wasn't intrusive.
