Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet

This is the XBLA game this week. I played the trial this morning and will most liekly buy the game this evening when I get home.

Think Shadow Complex but where you control a spaceship through the monster-planet. If you've played Aquaria, you have a good idea what to expect here.

The game is 1200 points. While I haven't bought anything off Summer of Arcade yet, the games definately haven't disapointed.

I've been waiting for this for a long time. It's a damn fine game. It has a level of polish that shows the creators have a real love for their game. So far, the control and gadgets are great and my girls love watching me play.

For those that don't know, it's a twin stick shooter inspired game play, but it has metrovania style puzzles and exploration. You have to collect different weapons and power ups and switch through them to access new areas, solve puzzles, and defeat enemies and bosses.

Here's the trailer. It's a very stylized game that looks great in HD and is a joy to play thus far.
