American Splendor
If its still playing anywhere near where you live, go see it. Its brilliantly original and very funny. See it!! It's independent so you may actually have to search around, but again, its a must see.
Now usually, I don't go by reviews, but if you do want to see how well reviewed this is...

If you miss it, rent it, if you don't rent it, you are really missing out on some very exellent film-making.

Yeah I saw this at the local snobhouse theater. It's very good. There are so few original movies coming out lately that are just so well made that when one does come out, you remember why you like movies so much. Anyone who likes movies should go and see this.
Hope Davis was really good too. It's a crime she doesn't get more roles.

This film is fucking amazing.

Seriously. Just search her previous post history. The very first page is a goldmine.Aslanna wrote:This place needs more kyoukan!

She was insanely clever with her insults. Her posts frequently brought a smile to my face. I always wondered what she was like in person. It seems like all that whit and venom could be put to good use somewhere. I have read and posted on a shitload of msg boards and I can honestly say that Kyoukan was the strongest, most consistant poster I have ever read. Furor was always a great read too.

Really!?! Since that was posted 8 years ago, I've gotten married, had 2 children, bought a home, sold 2 cars and bought 2 others, finished school, and increased my income by 5x what I was making then. My demographic is night and day!
I think everyone's demographic changed so much that they stopped posting here! How many active poster do we have now, maybe a dozen?

I was barely in the Army back then, a smoker and meat eater.
Also, American Splendor really is a fantastic movie.
