Arizona immigration law ruling stokes the Right!

Post by Metanis »

For the "open borders" crowd the ruling yesterday appears to be a win. However it may be a case of winning a battle while losing the war. The right is riled up and more likely to get out and vote in November. It gives the notion of "activist judges" yet another bump. It's striking evidence that "the will of the people" is no longer a factor to the ruling class. It also further erodes confidence in the judiciary as many comments begin with the fact the judge was appointed by Clinton The Felon.

Finally, it's another case of poor political judgment by the Obama administration. By waiting until closer to the election to file the lawsuit they could have gamed the political consequences. They could have waited until the law took effect and filed based on a manufactured case of discrimination. They would have got a positive bounce among the left while only getting a muted response from the right. The current situation has resulted in a hugely lopsided buzz favoring the right. But hey, maybe credentials as a community rabblerouser doesn't really prepare one to govern smartly!

And who really gives a fuck about 'buzz'.
You should try coming up with your own talking points instead of just regurgitating shit you hear on talk radio.

My guess is the tea partyers\far right are doing the democrats a huge favor by talking this up so much, especially the way they're presenting it.

They're making themselves seem like a bunch of loonies on a national stage just in time for the election.

*Edit - I was thinking the RNC had lost enough battles to learn their lesson, apparently not.

5 of 6 polling outfits have Republics ahead in the generic vote. Your guess will be easy to verify in about a week as new polling data comes online. I suggest it will be inconclusive since many people are torn by the desire to help the truly unfortunate and their wish for tighter border enforcement.
