The choices it's enabled women in their lives far outweigh the bad. She assumes the "US family situation" wouldn't be as it is now without the pill. To some extent the correlation is there, but how much is another question.These days, nobody seems able to "keep it in their pants" or honor a commitment, raising the question: Is marriage still a viable option? I'm ashamed to admit that I myself have been married four times, and yet I still feel that marriage is the cornerstone of civilization, an essential institution that stabilizes society, provides a sanctuary for children. Strong family-orientated communities save us from anarchy
I'd never considered the impact this had on women\society, I entered the workforce at a point where having women around was the norm.
